Since November 5, Vietcombank has officially expanded the deployment of the feature of Warning about receiving money accounts showing signs of suspected fraud or scams ("VCB Alert" feature). for money transfer transactions within Vietcombank on VCB Digibank and at the counter.

Warning of unusual signs in receiving account

Specifically, when customers make online money transfer transactions, the system will automatically issue warnings if the recipient's account shows signs such as: The recipient's information does not match the national population database; The recipient's account is on the warning list of a competent State agency; The recipient's account is on the list of suspected risks... In case of transactions at the counter, Vietcombank staff will proactively notify customers when the recipient's account shows similar suspicious signs.

Based on the warning information, customers can proactively decide whether to continue the transaction or not.

Hundreds of thousands of transactions are alerted in time

Previously, from June 30, Vietcombank deployed the feature of Warning about suspected fraud or scam accounts (VCB Alert) for Napas24/7 Fast Money Transfer transactions on VCB Digibank. Up to now, the system has issued hundreds of thousands of warnings to customers when making money transfer transactions.

This is an effort by Vietcombank and the authorities to strengthen customer protection. However, in the context of increasingly sophisticated and complex forms of fraud, to ensure safety, Vietcombank still recommends that customers always be vigilant, protect personal information and service security information, regularly monitor risk warning information and safe transaction instructions from banks and authorities.

Fake messages

In early November 2025, Vietcombank also issued a warning about fraud impersonating Vietcombank SMS messages. Accordingly, recently, this bank continued to receive feedback about scammers sending fake Vietcombank SMS messages with the content of informing that accumulated reward points are about to expire and instructing customers to access a link to redeem gifts or receive refunds with the following identifying features:

The message contains unusual links such as: https://j8sk.vip/doidiemVCB; https://j8sk.vip/doidiemvietcombank; https://j8sk.vip;…

If customers click on the link in the message, they will be redirected to a fake Vietcombank website and asked to follow the instructions to redeem gifts/receive cashback from accumulated points.

If customers enter personal information, card numbers, and OTP codes, criminals can steal information to spend or link the customer's card to the fraudster's mobile device, thereby stealing money from the card.

This is a scam, fake brand message that has been continuously warned by authorities and Vietcombank. To ensure the safety of customers' assets, VIETCOMBANK CONTINUES TO RECOMMEND TO CUSTOMERS:

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT provide security information (card information, OTP code) to anyone. Vietcombank DOES NOT require customers to provide service security information in any form.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT access strange links sent via email, text messages or social networks. Vietcombank DOES NOT send emails or text messages containing links to customers.

Be sure to read the OTP code notification message carefully to detect any abnormalities. The OTP code notification always contains information about the purpose of the card transaction and the name of the unit that initiated the card transaction.

In case customers accidentally enter card information into a fake website, it is necessary to urgently lock the card by contacting hotline 1900545413 or accessing the VCB Digibank application and performing the operations as instructed here.

Customers only contact and receive information through Vietcombank's official channels. At the same time, customers are requested to regularly monitor the Risk Warning section on Vietcombank's official website to be updated with information on the latest scams, joining hands to protect online transaction safety.
