The sadness of the 80-year-old veteran artist has been shared by his fellow artists over the past few days. Dieu Hien, one of the famous martial artists of the Cai Luong stage, was attacked by the online community just because she visited and encouraged artists Hong Nhung and Hong Phuong, causing many people in the art world and interested audiences to feel sorry.

It is not just a story of a visit. It is the feelings of a veteran artist, living the last days of his life in silence, but still deeply attached to his profession and humanity – and then suddenly becoming the focus of baseless accusations and judgments.

Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien: "I have something frustrating to say..."

Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien confided in a short clip, her voice slow and heavy: "I'm not confused yet. If I were confused, how could I still write songs and remember old stories? I visited Hong Nhung and Hong Phuong because I felt sorry for them and their difficulties, I didn't seek anything. Yet people cursed at me, said this and that... I'm upset."

The artist mentioned the current situation of his two younger siblings in the acting profession: living in poverty, not singing much, having to worry about daily bread. "It's hard to sing Cai Luong, finding a performance is extremely difficult. Hong Nhung and Hong Phuong have to rent a house, if they don't sing, where will they get the money to pay? I thought about that so I came to visit."

There was one thing she emphasized, clearly and distinctly: "I am not on anyone's side. I just feel sorry for the children who are suffering and come to visit them."

There is no resentment in that confession, only the sadness of a person who has gone through all the ups and downs of life, but still cannot escape the cruelty of today's social networks - where words can be interpreted in countless ways, where affection is easily replaced by speculation and attack.

Dieu Hien - Vu Linh, the close teacher-student relationship

To understand the pain of Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien today, we need to recall the rare teacher-student love story in the history of reformed opera between Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien and Meritorious Artist Vu Linh when they both performed on the stage of the Kim Chuong troupe.

She taught him everything from singing - acting - to living, and shaped the young man's unruly personality.

Meritorious Artist Vu Linh always calls her "Sister Hien" with respect. On her arduous artistic path, she was once severely burned when the boat carrying the troupe capsized, causing the boat to catch fire at night. Meritorious Artist Vu Linh took three months off from the troupe to take care of her.

When Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien’s family fell into poverty, it was Meritorious Artist Vu Linh who helped her get the first house in his name. And at the end of his life, despite his poor health, Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien still tried to see his student one last time, then sobbed beside his coffin.

It was a precious colleague relationship and an unwavering affection between them. But today, that affection was put on the scale of public opinion, making her feel sad.

"Vu Linh is gone, don't let sadness haunt your family"

Those who attacked Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien were mostly anti-fans related to the property dispute of the late artist Vu Linh. But instead of looking at the humane context of a normal visit, they chose harsh words, turning a simple act into a reason to attack.

At the age of 80, what an artist needs is not a big stage, not the limelight, but just: A greeting, a handshake, a respect.

No one is born to be the subject of baseless judgment. Especially not those who have devoted their lives to art. "Vu Linh is gone, don't let sadness haunt his family" - Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien said.

The story of Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien is not just the sadness of a veteran artist. It is a wake-up call: Don’t let social media erode the humanity in us. Don’t let good intentions turn into sins just because of a one-sided view. Don’t let the artists who once created our memories live the rest of their lives in pain.

For Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien, who once stood on stage with the spirit of "the number one martial artist", what she needs most now is simply peace. The audience who loves her still hopes that she will live the rest of her life peacefully and beautifully in the Artist Retirement Home.
