Bryan Mbeumo was awarded the Premier League Player of the Month award for the first time thanks to his outstanding performances, playing a key role in the impressive form of the Old Trafford team.

Bryan Mbeumo is named player of the month for the first time
First time for Bryan Mbeumo
In Man United's three October matches, Bryan Mbeumo left a strong mark with an assist in the 2-0 win over Sunderland, scoring the opening goal in the 2-1 away win over Liverpool and scoring a double against Brighton at Old Trafford.
Not only is he the top scorer for Man United in the Premier League this season so far (4 goals), his impressive performance this month also helped Bryan Mbeumo top the list of 8 shortlisted candidates, including Matty Cash (Aston Villa), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle), Erling Haaland (Man City), Eli Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth), Nordi Mukiele (Sunderland), Igor Thiago (Brentford) and Jurrien Timber (Arsenal).

Mbeumo played impressively in the big match against Liverpool
Despite his stellar performances for Brentford, this is the first time Mbeumo has won the Premier League Player of the Month award. He also becomes the second Cameroonian to receive the award, after Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip in February 2022.
The last Man United player to be honoured before Mbeumo was Bruno Fernandes, back in March this year. In total, 24 Man United players have won the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, more than at least five other clubs.
Amorim honored
Man United's joy was even more complete when coach Ruben Amorim was awarded the "Best Premier League Coach" award for October. The Portuguese strategist was honored for the first time in his career in the "most difficult league in the world " after surpassing strong candidates including Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Unai Emery (Aston Villa) and Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth).

Amorim and his students and the joy of receiving the award
The monthly poll is based on votes from the public on the EA Sports website, along with votes from a panel of leading football experts in the UK. In October, Man United won all three of their games – the first time they have done so since February 2024.
Coaches and players being honored together is not a new thing, but for Man United, this has been happening for quite a while, since November 2023, when Harry Maguire, coach Erik ten Hag and Alejandro Garnacho won the "Player of the Month", "Coach of the Month" and "Goal of the Month" awards respectively.

The trophy was presented to coach Amorim at Carrington training centre
Speaking after receiving the award, coach Amorim shared with TNT Sports: "My feeling is that life can change very quickly. We have changed in just the last 4 weeks. Second, this is not my award alone. This is the award for the whole team, because the players are the ones who are on the field and they have done very well. We have had some bad days, but the whole team still worked hard to overcome all difficulties, including the problems from last season and the beginning of the current season. The most important thing is that this award is only for the last month, so it does not mean much. In football, we have to continue winning in the next month."
Ruben Amorim becomes the sixth Portuguese coach to receive the award, following in the footsteps of compatriots Jose Mourinho, Andre Villas Boas, Nuno Espirito Santo, Bruno Lage and Vitor Pereira.
"Cursed" monthly prize
Many coaches and players, after receiving monthly awards in the Premier League, suddenly declined, and the team's performance also dropped significantly. Awards always bring great honor, but monthly awards in the Premier League are like "bad omens", requiring individuals to always make efforts. For Man United, they need to perform well in the tour to London on the night of November 8, at Tottenham's field, to prove that their recent form is not temporary.
