Vietnam's semiconductor aspiration: Opening of Vietnam semiconductor industry exhibition 2025

(HTV) - Vietnam is striving to develop the semiconductor industry with the goal of sustainable growth. SEMI Expo Vietnam 2025 attracts more than 5,000 international delegates, promoting technological cooperation and training of high-quality human resources.

Vietnam is proactively paving the way for technology investors, using science, innovation and digital transformation as growth drivers, with the goal of "catching up, advancing together and surpassing". This was affirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2025 (SEMI Expo Vietnam 2025), chaired and organized by the Ministry of Finance , which took place yesterday morning in Hanoi.

Exhibition space introduces semiconductor technology, attracting businesses and visitors

With the theme "Promoting Vietnam's semiconductor aspirations", this year's exhibition brings together more than 5,000 delegates and 200 booths from leading technology partners in the semiconductor field in the world . This is the second year Vietnam has organized this international event, aiming to promote the formation of a Vietnamese semiconductor ecosystem, connect domestic enterprises with global corporations, support the training of high-quality human resources and promote the image of Vietnam as an emerging destination in the international semiconductor supply chain.

Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center, said: "The full participation of large enterprises and corporations in the world in the semiconductor industry, especially senior leaders of leading semiconductor corporations in the US, shows the great attraction and potential of the Vietnamese market."

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized: "SEMI Expo is not only a place to connect investment and share knowledge, but also a symbol of Vietnam's spirit of cooperation, creativity and aspiration to rise in the new technology era."

He said that Vietnam is continuing to improve its institutions and investment incentive policies towards international standards, creating favorable conditions and proactively paving the way for investors to develop together. The Government is also implementing the National Semiconductor Human Resources Training Program, linking training - practice - enterprises and research institutes, while prioritizing the development of STEM education to meet future human resource needs.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: "Developing the semiconductor industry is not a short-term race, but a long-term journey of Vietnam's vision, mettle and aspiration."

Award ceremony and signing of Memorandum of Understanding at Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2025, with the participation of leaders and representatives of major corporations

Within the framework of the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee also witnessed the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between Vietnam and many international partners, opening up opportunities for extensive cooperation, contributing to promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry and reaching the regional level.
