Hundreds of ships and rafts were damaged and washed ashore by waves... in the Vung Chao and Song Cau areas (formerly Phu Yen province) after storm No. 13. Each ship costs from over 100 million to over 300 million VND, and is a "home base" for local fishing families.

According to locals, the Vung Chao area used to be a safe shelter for ships during big storms. However, due to the unpredictable wind direction of storm No. 13, the number of ships anchored at Vung Chao suffered very serious damage. Hundreds of fishing boats were tossed by waves and wind and piled up on top of each other. Up to this point, many ship owners have classified the damage into 3 groups: the group with complete damage that cannot be repaired, the group with large ships, slightly damaged but stranded, with no solution yet, and the group with ships that can be repaired, waiting for the route to be cleared for cranes to transport them to ship repair facilities.

People are bringing in equipment to "salvage" reusable parts of their boats.
A resident tries to bail water out of the bottom of the ship. A lucky ship is being made to make it out to deep waters. Many people sadly call this place "ship graveyard" on Xuan Dai Bay.
