The art project consists of 30 paintings, sketches and installations, expressing an in-depth perspective on the impact of an achievement-oriented society on personal identity. Author Lan Chi leads viewers through the complex emotions of modern people - a series of internal dialogues between the desire for freedom and the fear of being left behind.
In the exhibition “Your cheekbones - A piece of smoke”, Lan Chi continues to explore the connection between emotion and perception. She uses gouache, oil paint and found objects as a visual language to express the human spirit amidst turmoil, between light and ashes, between beauty and pain.

In the context of a modern society built on the spirit of progress and the desire for success, “Your cheekbones - A piece of smoke left behind” raises the issue of the price of constant effort. Each painting, each object in the exhibition space is like a broken piece of memory, reflecting the struggle between the resilient exterior and the fragile interior of modern people. From there, the exhibition raises the question: Is achievement still a measure of value when personal identity is gradually lost?
Author Lan Chi is currently a 12th grade student at Hanoi -Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. Although she is still very young, she has had a remarkable creative journey. Previously, she carried out the Cheekbones project, which included 30 expressionist paintings and a series of historical reconstruction illustrations, selected by V-Art Space as one of the outstanding youth projects. During the 3-month exhibition (from June to August 2025), the project raised 780 USD to support flood victims through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

In addition, Lan Chi also co-curated the online exhibition Hidden Grace x Cheekbones, with more than 100 works revolving around the theme of emotions and post-war healing, attracting 10,000 global views on the Cloudpano.com platform.
