People's Artist Trung Kien through memories of excellent students

A concert honoring the great contributions of the talented teacher, Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien, will take place on the evening of November 16 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hanoi.

During his lifetime, Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien was considered a talented artist, full of passion in all three fields: training - research - performance. He was the leading singer of Vietnamese revolutionary music with a rare, bright, resonant tenor voice, combining standard singing techniques with emotions and a dignified, elegant performance style; he was an exemplary pedagogue who laid the foundation for Vietnamese vocal training. "His name is associated with the maturity of Vietnamese vocal music. The current vocal curriculum from intermediate to university level of the Vietnam National Academy of Music is mostly written by Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien...", Dr. and People's Artist Quoc Hung, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, affirmed.

After more than half a century of artistic activities, Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien has left behind a valuable legacy. These are the recordings of his works, exemplary performances, research works, a system of textbooks, and most of all, generations of talented students who have followed in his footsteps.

The program is divided into 3 parts: The origin of scholarly vocal music - Revolutionary music flow - Romantic and contemporary music , considered as 3 chapters of musical memoirs, recreating the journey of more than half a century of the People's Artist - a respected teacher, with songs associated with his name such as: Afternoon in the port, Ho Chi Minh is the most beautiful name, Truong Son song, Sending sunshine to you, Vietnam's standing posture, Hello heroic Ma river, Night stars ...

The program is produced by the Vocal Department, Vietnam National Academy of Music, and performed by Vang Son Mot Thuo. Artists participating in the program are generations of excellent students of Professor - People's Artist Trung Kien such as: People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Lan Anh, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, "Queen of Vietnamese Opera" Bich Thuy... along with singers Trong Tan, Anh Tho, Le Anh Dung...
