Duc Nguyen is the person behind many movie and TV series scripts that are highly appreciated by audiences and experts such as "The Immortal", "The Last Wife", "Red Flower Farm" or "Detective Kien".

This is the first time Duc Nguyen has participated in a film project as a director. “Almost Perfect Murder” is released by Dreamcraft Studio and Galaxy Studio. Notably, accompanying him is Victor Vu, who takes on the role of creative director.

“Almost Perfect Murder” is a detective story combining comedy and romance, told in a close and rhythmic manner.

The film is set in a modern setting and revolves around two main characters: a “mindless” TikToker and a “rude” detective, seemingly unrelated people caught up in the same mysterious case. An “almost perfect murder”, where the line between love, jealousy and crime is so fragile that it makes viewers wonder: “Is the truth ever as perfect as we think?”.

Although the specific content has not been revealed, the crew said that the film will explore the issue of "injustice must be cleared", but the funny and sad adventure of the "couple in circumstances" will focus on how people face prejudice, doubt and the truth, instead of a tense and sensational atmosphere. By integrating the Buddy Comedy style into a crime-solving story, Duc Nguyen and Victor Vu hope to bring an accessible entertainment experience but still profound enough for the audience to ponder.

Director Duc Nguyen shares about the project.

Duc Nguyen shared: "The investigative journey in my debut film as a director not only explores a mysterious murder case but also delves into the dark corners of humanity, with a gentle and humorous tone."

Meanwhile, deciding to leave the director's chair to become creative director, Victor Vu shared: "I am always interested in film projects that choose a different path from a familiar genre. The way Duc tells a detective story while still maintaining the quality of life and laughter is what convinced me and made me accept the role of creative director for the film."

Victor Vu is expected to bring to the project beautiful, well-crafted footage and a unique cinematic perspective - something he has affirmed through his previous box office films. The combination of Victor Vu's visual thinking and Duc Nguyen's storytelling is considered an interesting meeting point between the two "artists" of filmmaking.

In particular, right from the name of the film, “Nearly Perfect Murder” evokes a feeling of both seriousness and humor, just like the genre that Duc Nguyen and Victor Vu pursue. Will he continue to develop his strengths in the detective and thriller genre, or is he preparing to “change direction” to a new, more intimate and entertaining film?

The answer will be revealed when the film is officially released. Currently, “Almost Perfect Murder” is still in the pre-production stage. The reunion between Duc Nguyen and Victor Vu, in almost swapped roles, along with the revealed details of the film are enough to make the audience curious: what kind of “murder” can be called… almost perfect?
