Due to the impact of storm No. 13 causing a landslide on the railway at Km 1136+800 to Km 1136+925 in the Van Canh-Phuoc Lanh section on the North-South railway through the two provinces of Dak Lak and Gia Lai, by the morning of November 9, the railway industry had stopped running 45 passenger trains from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City.
At this time, the railway industry also reduced the frequency of passenger trains running through the area under construction at the Van Canh-Phuoc Lanh section.
At the same time, the railway industry has organized road transport from Dieu Tri station to Tuy Hoa for other trains that are still running.
Statistics up to this point show that the number of passengers transported is more than 3,500 people from 21 passenger trains affected by storm No. 13.
Previously, at km 1136+850, the North-South railway section passing through Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces in the Phuoc Lanh-Van Canh section encountered a serious incident when the rock foundation was washed away with an average depth of about 9m.
In addition, fallen trees blocked and broke signal poles, national power grid outages led to loss of communication and many signal communication devices were paralyzed due to flooding.
Updated as of the morning of November 9, three Railway Joint Stock Companies: Phu Khanh, Nghia Binh and Thuan Hai are installing stone cages on both sides of the bridge and the middle pillar to fix the washed away railway stone foundation.
The units also proceeded to install drainage pipes. Regarding signal information, communication from Tuy Hoa station to Dieu Tri station has been temporarily restored to serve train operations; at the same time, automatic warning level crossings have been implemented to serve the operation of stone-carrying trains to respond to and repair the temporary bridge at Km 1136+800./.
