The budget for the gift giving is 40 million VND, which SGGP Newspaper deducted from the 100 million VND source of HCM IT Golf Club to support flood victims in Hue City, through the connection of SGGP Newspaper.

In addition to 70 gifts (VND 500,000/gift) given to households in the Con Hen area at Vy Da Kindergarten, SGGP reporters and local government representatives also visited, encouraged and gave VND 5 million from SGGP to support the family of Mr. Truong Van Khanh (residing at 17/95, lane 7, Ung Binh street, Vy Da ward).

Mr. Khanh's family is poor, his wife has been bedridden for more than 10 years, so all family expenses depend on Mr. Khanh's income from pedicab and bricklaying. Recently, Mr. Khanh unfortunately fell ill again and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment while the Huong River flood exceeded level 3. When Mr. Khanh went to the emergency room, his wife was evacuated by local authorities and neighbors, the water rose about 2 meters high, causing damage to all the furniture in the house.
Con Hen is a "small island" in the middle of the Perfume River, famous for its clam raking and mussel rice and mussel noodles. This is the lowest area in Hue City, so when the Perfume River flood exceeded the second alarm level, the whole Con Hen was surrounded by floodwaters on all sides, causing thousands of people, mainly poor workers, to face many difficulties in their lives. Not stopping there, the flood came, and Con Hen was cut off from traffic when the only iron bridge connecting Con Hen with the other side of Vy Da ward was flooded...

Representing the households receiving gifts, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Bang, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vy Da Ward, thanked SGGP Newspaper for its timely attention and support. At the same time, she said that SGGP Newspaper is a unit that always accompanies the government and people of Vy Da Ward in general and Con Hen area in particular in social security work, especially at a time when people are struggling to overcome the consequences after consecutive floods.
“The relief gifts contain profound humanistic meaning, demonstrating the concern and sharing of SGGP Newspaper and readers for people facing many difficulties. This activity contributes to spreading the spirit of mutual love and support, encouraging poor, near-poor, and sick households to overcome difficulties. Thereby, creating more motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of Vy Da ward to continue their efforts to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, and soon bring people's lives back to normal," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Bang.
