From noon on November 19 to 5 a.m. on November 20, Ninh Gia commune recorded widespread heavy rain due to the influence of increased cold air combined with low pressure trough.
At the same time, Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant released floodwaters with a flow rate of up to 2,300 m³/s, causing 5 villages along the Dai Ninh River, including Dai Ninh, Ninh Thien, Thien Chi, Kinh Te Moi and Tan Phu, to be deeply flooded, and many traffic sections were completely cut off.

Preliminary statistics show that although there were no human casualties, infrastructure and production were greatly affected: the suspension bridge connecting Ninh Gia - Phu Hoi was washed away; Thien Chi village bridge was deeply flooded, causing traffic disruption; 87 households had their houses flooded; about 65 hectares of crops and coffee were submerged in water.

In Thien Chi village, the section from the iron bridge to the village hall was isolated by floodwaters, forcing about 100 households to evacuate urgently.

Present at the most seriously flooded spot, Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary Bui Thang requested the forces to closely monitor weather developments, increase warnings and strictly carry out evacuation work: "The forces need to closely monitor water levels and flood discharge; immediately organize the evacuation of people in dangerous areas to safe places. People's safety is the top priority, absolutely do not let anyone stay in high-risk areas."

As soon as heavy rain appeared, Ninh Gia Commune People's Committee activated 24/24 duty; mobilized police, military , militia and other organizations to support people in moving their properties and evacuating to safe places. Duc Trong Electricity promptly cut off power in deeply flooded areas; at the same time, local forces organized food and drinking water supplies for isolated households. The commune's loudspeaker system continuously broadcast to inform about flood discharge situation and guide preventive measures.
Recognizing the efforts of the frontline forces in complex weather conditions, comrade Bui Thang presented gifts of encouragement to the Commune Police, the regional defense force, Regiment 994, the commune militia and self-defense forces, and other forces participating in flood response work.

Ms. Pham Thi Hoa, one of the evacuated households, shared:
“Thanks to the timely support from the authorities, my family is safe. We hope the flood will recede soon so we can stabilize our lives.”
