Reducing the regulated discharge flow through the spillways of Dai Ninh and Don Duong hydropower plants

Accordingly, at 8:00 p.m. on November 18, the water level of Dai Ninh Lake reached 879.938 m (normal water level is 880 m); inflow to the lake was 553 m3/s, machine flow was 55 m3/s, and regulated discharge flow through the spillway was 550 m3/s.

Based on the hydrological situation in the basin of Dai Ninh Lake, Don Duong Lake and the discharge flow of Don Duong Lake, the Company will reduce the regulated discharge flow through the spillway of Dai Ninh Lake at 9:00 p.m. on November 18 from 550m3/s to between 450m3/s and 550m3/s to operate to cut and reduce floods for downstream.

The company will increase or decrease the discharge flow depending on the rainfall and inflow into the lake and will notify later.

Currently, Don Duong hydroelectric reservoir is reducing water flow regulation.

On the same day, DHĐ Company also announced the reduction of regulated discharge through Don Duong spillway. At 6:00 p.m. on November 18, the water level of Don Duong Lake reached 1,040.443 m (normal water level 1,042 m), the flow rate of the machine was 36.6 m3/s, the flow rate to the lake was 161.4 m3/s, and the flow rate through the spillway was 300 m3/s. Based on the hydrological situation of Don Duong Lake, DHĐ Company reduced the regulated discharge rate through Don Duong spillway from 300 m3/s to 250 m3/s at 7:00 p.m. on November 18.

Therefore, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Dai Ninh Hydropower Company and Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant requested the People's Committees of communes along the downstream to coordinate and ensure safety.

It is known that on the afternoon of November 17, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen inspected the operation of Don Duong reservoir. Here, the leader of the Provincial People's Committee noted that in the coming time, the weather situation is forecast to continue to be complicated and unpredictable, so the unit must not be subjective, it is necessary to proactively monitor and continuously update the weather situation, hydrometeorology, water storage level of the reservoir; update the plan to ensure safety, operate the project in accordance with hydrometeorological forecast information. Continue to organize inspections and reviews of the safety situation of the project and deploy plans to ensure safety for the hydroelectric reservoir in accordance with the developments of rain and floods.

In particular, pay attention to the direction of the operation of the Don Duong hydropower reservoir to ensure the safety of the project and people in the downstream area, especially in emergency flood discharge situations. Ensure that no unusual flood discharges cause unsafety to the downstream area, and strictly implement early warnings to people in the downstream area before the reservoir discharges flood and when there is a risk of an incident. During the operation and regulation of the reservoir, it is necessary to promptly report to local authorities at all levels in the downstream area of the reservoir to have appropriate plans and solutions.
