Episode 161 of the program Vietnamese Family Home is hosted by MC Duong Hong Phuc, with two guests: Runner-up Che Nguyen Quynh Chau and singer Ho Phi Nal.

Quynh Chau shared that she hopes her appearance will contribute a little more strength to share with children in difficult circumstances. Meanwhile, singer Ho Phi Nal expressed happiness mixed with worry, because he did not know if he could help the children or not. The male singer affirmed that he will try his best in the challenges to bring meaningful rewards to the less fortunate lives.

The boy lost his father and was worried about loss when his three remaining relatives all had congenital heart disease.

Nguyen Lam Nhut Minh, born in 2013, is studying in grade 6 at An Thanh Dong Secondary School, An Thanh Commune, Can Tho City. Nhut Minh's father passed away when he was only 4 months old. After the incident, his mother took the two brothers to live at his maternal grandmother's house and then went to Ho Chi Minh City to work. Since childhood, Nhut Minh and his brother Nguyen Khanh Hung (born in 2007) grew up under the care and protection of their grandmother.

Nhut Minh’s mother, Lam Thi Lanh, works as a waitress at a restaurant and earns about 5 million VND per month. She saves money and sends home 1.5 million VND to help her mother take care of her children. However, Lanh has a congenital heart disease and is in poor health, so the job is quite difficult.

Her grandmother, Mrs. Tran Thi Rot (1957), also had congenital heart disease, often had difficulty breathing and had to take medication every day. To earn more income, she opened a small tea shop in front of her house, but because the area was sparsely populated, there were days when she could not sell anything.

Khanh Hung, Nhut Minh's older brother, also has a congenital heart disease. He works and studies at the same time, so his income is not stable. Occasionally, he saves 500,000 VND to send home to his grandmother to buy medicine. The small house, which was already poor, became even more difficult when all three members of the family had heart disease. Nhut Minh was the only healthy person, so he became independent early, aware that he would be the family's support in the future.

After school, Nhut Minh cleans the house, does the laundry, cooks, and cleans up after everything so that his grandmother can rest. He loves his grandmother for raising him since he was young, and is grateful to his mother and brother for always sacrificing so that he can go to school. Despite his poverty, Nhut Minh is still obedient, studies well, and dreams of growing up to support his family.

MC Duong Hong Phuc gently hugged Nhat Minh's grandmother, sharing love and understanding.

MC Duong Hong Phuc choked up at the image of the grandmother who worked hard day and night, despite her old age, still trying to raise her orphaned grandchildren. She fell many times, her broken arms had not yet healed before she had to work. The image of her with trembling hands bringing Nhut Minh to the show moved the male MC.

What worries him the most is that out of four people in Nhat Minh's family, three have congenital heart disease. He said: " Seeing Nhat Minh calling his mother touched me. He lacks his father's love and has to live far away from his mother due to his circumstances, lacking both material and spiritual needs, but is still obedient and understanding. A 12-year-old boy having to face so many worries makes me very sad."

At the program, Duong Hong Phuc donated 5 million VND to the family. The male MC deeply sympathized because his son had a heart disease and was treated promptly, so he decided to support all the heart disease examination costs for the members of Nhut Minh's family.

Runner-up Quynh Chau also choked up, hugged his grandmother and sent words of encouragement when she learned that Nhut Minh had a dream of becoming a doctor to treat his relatives and help the community. She shared that every time she encountered difficulties, she thought of them as challenges to overcome, and wanted to pass that spirit on to Nhut Minh. Quynh Chau donated 10 million VND to his family, and at the same time wanted to take her grandmother to treat her hand injury.

Singer Ho Phi Nal sent words of encouragement to Nhut Minh to continue studying hard to become the support of the family. He used his own money to buy him a bicycle and some new clothes.

Nhut Minh's grandmother burst into tears at the kindness of MC Duong Hong Phuc and the artists. She said that no matter how hard it was, she still tried her best to take care of Nhut Minh so that he could study properly.

The understanding boy sells lottery tickets after school to help his disabled parents.

Truong Minh Tien, born in 2015, is currently in grade 5 at Binh Tan Primary School, Binh Thanh Commune, Dong Thap Province. Minh Tien lives with his father, Truong Van Nho (born in 1971), his mother, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (born in 1981) and his younger brother, Truong Manh Tuong (born in 2018).

Although both parents are still alive, Minh Tien’s family is still in a very difficult situation. Both of his parents have congenital leg disabilities and cannot walk normally, and mostly have to crawl around the house. Overcoming adversity, Nho and Tuyen still try to make a living by selling lottery tickets to take care of their children. In addition, both receive 750,000 VND/person/month – social benefits for people with disabilities.

The local authorities have provided each of them with an electric scooter for their convenience. However, due to poor health, they can only sell about 150 lottery tickets a day. In the evening, Tien’s mother also accepts cashew nut scraping at home to earn extra income; the whole family together can process about 1kg of cashew nuts a day, and are paid 8,000 VND/kg.

Not only did Ms. Tuyen have difficulty in daily life, she also suffered from cerebral anemia, frequent headaches, and numbness in her limbs. Mr. Nho suffered from asthma and had to take medication regularly because of difficulty breathing. The already difficult situation became even more difficult. However, Minh Tien was still obedient, studious, and tried to overcome difficulties. After school, the two brothers helped their parents sell lottery tickets and scrape cashews.

Runner-up Quynh Chau felt sorry for Minh Tien's situation and was surprised by the understanding of the two brothers. She shared: "But when I saw my brother and sister (Minh Tien's parents), I understood. Despite the difficulties, they were always positive, did not give up and always tried, so the children also became strong-willed like their parents. Perhaps for the children, having their parents by their side is a very happy and proud thing."

When hearing Minh Tien's younger brother burst into tears and say: "I love my parents because they sell lottery tickets every day to earn money for my siblings to go to school", the beauty queen felt even more heartbroken. She choked up: "The boy is only 7 years old but he understands things like that. That shows that his life has gone through too many difficulties - things that a 7-year-old child should not have to face. Children of this age should be innocent and carefree. Hearing him say he knows how to fry eggs and cook noodles to help his parents makes me very heartbroken."

Facing the character's determination, runner-up Quynh Chau decided to give each family 10 million VND, hoping to give the children more motivation to be more steadfast in life.

"I love my parents because they sell lottery tickets every day to earn money for my siblings and I to go to school" - Minh Tien's younger brother shared innocent but heartbreaking words.

MC Duong Hong Phuc also emotionally shared: “There is one thing that I and many artists participating in the program admire, which is the unyielding willpower of fathers and mothers. Although the children lack material things, some lack affection, but thanks to their parents' strong will, the children learn the will to rise up and not give up. That is the happiest and proudest thing for parents. I really admire the spirit of Minh Tien's family to rise up.”

As for singer Ho Phi Nal, when he heard the children share about their parents, he could not control his emotions and kept wiping away tears. The singer of “Roi Den Luon” felt both sorry and admired the spirit of not giving up of the four family members. He decided to give a bicycle so that Minh Tien and his brother could go to school more conveniently.
