The YANTIAN I, a vessel on the carrier’s WSA3 service, was handled at HTIT with a CMPH (berth capacity) of 42.8 TEU/hour and a berth operation time of only 5.7 hours. Successfully handling this vessel in such a short period of time was no easy task. It required excellent coordination between the operation teams, modern berth crane systems, highly automated container handling equipment, and especially the skillful command of the port operations management team.
The above achievements show that HTIT is fully capable of meeting the highest operational standards of international container operations. HTIT's goal is not to stop at breaking its own records, but to maintain the highest operational performance consistently, bringing maximum value to customers and partners.
Officially put into operation in April 2025 with the first commercial ship MSC MAKALU III, HTIT has quickly made great strides. Just 5 months later, in September 2025, the port has continuously recorded new records, notably the successful reception of MSC KALINA, the largest container ship ever to dock at Lach Huyen deep-water port cluster. This series of impressive achievements in a short time is a strong affirmation of the correctness of the development strategy of Vietnam National Shipping Lines ( VIMC ) and Hai Phong Port.
The success of HTIT has shown the effectiveness of VIMC's foreign policy thinking, when proactively expanding cooperation with the world's leading maritime corporations. The joint venture between Hai Phong Port and Terminal Investment Limited (TIL) - a member of the world's number 1 shipping line MSC is a clear demonstration of this correct cooperation strategy, creating a breakthrough in the development of maritime infrastructure according to the direction of the Vietnamese Government.
