Chairman of a university council becomes the richest professor in Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Ho Xuan Nang, the "boss" of the stone cladding industry, one of the richest billionaires on the Vietnamese stock market, was officially recognized by the State Council of Professors as meeting professor standards in 2025.

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang - lecturer, Chairman of the University Council, General Director of Phenikaa University - is one of 71 faces recognized by the State Council of Professors as meeting professor standards in 2025.

He became the richest professor in Vietnam as one of the 10 richest people on the Vietnamese stock market with assets of nearly 9,000 billion VND by the end of 2024.

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang was born in 1964, in Ninh Binh (former Nam Dinh province).

In 1986, he graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (now Hanoi University of Science and Technology) with a major in Internal Combustion Engines.

In 1992, at the age of 28, he was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

He was recognized as Associate Professor in 2022, Department of Dynamics.

To date, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang has published 109 scientific articles, including 55 scientific articles in prestigious international journals and 14 scientific reports published in conference proceedings in the Scopus category, and is the main author of 22 prestigious international articles after being recognized as an associate professor.

He was also granted 14 patents and 5 utility solution patents.

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang's main research directions include heat and mass transfer, autonomous technology and intelligent mechatronic systems, energy storage technology, materials, structures and exploitation of power equipment.

From 2017 to present, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang is a lecturer and Chairman of the Board of Phenikaa. During this period, he held the position of Director of Phenikaa Research and Technology Institute.

Besides, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang participates in many business activities and holds many important positions.

Mr. Nang has held the positions of Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of A&A Green Phoenix Group Joint Stock Company; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vicostone Joint Stock Company; Director of Vinaconex High-end Stone Joint Stock Company, and General Director of Vicostone Joint Stock Company.

Since June 2014, he has held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vicostone, a unit of Phenikaa Group.

Known as the "boss" in the stone cladding industry in Vietnam, Mr. Nang became famous in 2014 with the sensational acquisition deal between A&A Green Phoenix Group Joint Stock Company (Phenikaa) and Vinaconex High-end Stone Cladding Joint Stock Company (the predecessor of Vicostone).

In his application, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang shared that in the process of teaching and guiding undergraduates, graduate students and doctoral students, he always adhered to the correct objectives and program content according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
