Students experience printing woodblock patterns from the Nguyen Dynasty.

Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Center for Conservation of Cultural Heritage, informed that this year's activities will be concentrated in the Tam Toa area, 33 Tong Duy Tan Street, Phu Xuan Ward. "We hope that Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day will become an opportunity for the community to better understand and connect with Hue's heritage, not only through images or stories, but through real experiences," Mr. Trung shared.

From November 21st to 23rd, a heritage education program themed "Exploring the Privy Council and Experiencing Hue's Heritage" will be open to students of all levels in the area. Students will have the opportunity to visit and learn about the Privy Council through exhibits, information, and images. In addition to learning about heritage, they will also participate in experiencing the sounds of the Imperial Palace, playing traditional court games (such as "dau ho," "xam huong," and "bai vu"), and printing woodblock prints of Nguyen Dynasty patterns and motifs.

One of the major highlights of this year's event is the series of exhibitions running from November 21 to 27, including: the "Donated Artifacts" antique exhibition, the "Hue Charm 3" painting exhibition, and the "Nguyen Dynasty Privy Council (1834 - 1945): A Journey Through Space and the Imprint of the Royal Court" exhibition.

Among the exhibits, the "Donated Artifacts" exhibition, organized by the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum, showcases approximately 50 representative artifacts made of various materials, donated by organizations and individuals from 1995 to the present. This is the first time the museum has organized such a large-scale exhibition to honor the spirit of donating heritage – a cultural value that is gradually gaining positive acceptance within the community.

According to Deputy Director of the Museum Truong Quy Man, among the exhibits on display this time are valuable items related to King Ham Nghi, along with some artifacts donated by royal families abroad or transferred by collectors...

Mr. Hoang Viet Trung stated that, in recent times, many organizations and individuals have shown special interest and joined hands in bringing precious artifacts and antiques of the Nguyen Dynasty back to the ancient capital. These contributions not only help preserve and safeguard cultural heritage but also create conditions for the value of this heritage to be more widely disseminated to the community and tourists. This exhibition is also an opportunity to express gratitude to those who have silently preserved and entrusted this heritage to Hue.

The Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center received two robes belonging to Empress Dowager Tu Cung, handed over by Mr. Pham Xuan Cuong (authorized representative).

Specifically, the exhibition "The Privy Council of the Nguyen Dynasty," whose content was developed by the Scientific Research Department, presents for the first time a comprehensive overview of the formation and operation of the supreme power organ during the Nguyen Dynasty, from its establishment, functions, and activities from its founding to the present day…

The "Hue Charm 3" exhibition, organized by the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum in collaboration with the University of Arts - Hue University, displays approximately 40 works by lecturers, artists, and students, offering a fresh perspective on the beauty of the ancient capital city.

Alongside the exhibitions, the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum also organized the "Royalist Spirit" program for students from Tran Cao Van and Thong Nhat Secondary Schools in the first week of December, commemorating the 140th anniversary of King Ham Nghi's issuance of the Royal Decree (1885-2025), with the participation of Hue researchers and representatives of the Nguyen Phuc family. This is considered an effective experiential education model, helping students approach history in a more vivid and engaging way.

According to Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Center for Conservation of Cultural Heritage, in the long-term plan, the area encompassing the Privy Council, the Hue Imperial Palace Museum of Antiquities, and the Imperial Academy will be planned as an educational, cultural, and research complex. These three important heritage sites will be linked together, contributing to the overall completion of the Hue Imperial Citadel's relics and creating an attractive cultural tourism axis for visitors.

According to the plan, the project "Conservation, restoration and adaptation of the Imperial Academy - Hue Citadel" will commence in December 2025. Upon completion, the Imperial Academy, Long An Palace, and Privy Council will be linked together into a unified complex, creating a heritage space that is both properly preserved and meets the needs of the community for learning, research, and cultural experience.

At the same time, the project "Restoration, Preservation and Adaptive Rehabilitation of the Temple of Literature" will also begin implementation. After restoration and reopening, the Temple of Literature promises to become a unique cultural destination, a suitable place to organize traditional educational activities, revive the rituals of worshipping Confucius, honor talented people and promote learning, contributing to the revival of the fundamental values of Confucian culture in Hue.
