The exhibition was organized by the Office of the National Assembly in coordination with the Committee on Law and Justice on the occasion of the first time the National Assembly Standing Committee organized the Forum on law-making.

The exhibition provides an overview of the development process of law-making by the Vietnamese National Assembly (from 1946 to present).
Over the past eight decades, since the first National Assembly promulgated the 1946 Constitution - the first Constitution of Vietnam, the National Assembly's law-making activities have been continuously strengthened, developed and improved.

From the first laws to consolidate the revolutionary government, protect national independence, to the formation of a synchronous and effective legal system, meeting the requirements of innovation, integration and sustainable development of the country, the National Assembly has always played a central role in the process of institutional creation and building the Constitutional foundation of the socialist rule of law country of Vietnam, realizing the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.

With about 200 typical images and documents, the Exhibition introduces important achievements in the law-making work of the National Assembly through each historical period, including 5 parts:
Part I. Period 1946–1960: 1st National Assembly – Laying the foundation for law-making work.

Part II. Period 1960–1980: The Vietnamese National Assembly built and consolidated the legal system to create a legal foundation for the socialist regime.
Part III. Period 1980–1992: The Vietnamese National Assembly innovated its legal thinking and legislative activities, creating a solid foundation for the country's comprehensive renovation.

Part IV. Period 1992–2011: The Vietnamese National Assembly promoted legislative work and perfected the legal system to meet the requirements of industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration.
Part V. Period from 2011 to present: The Vietnamese National Assembly continues to innovate, improve the quality of legislation, build a synchronous and effective legal system, contributing to building and perfecting a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, for the people.
