Van Ninh Commune: Focus on supporting people to recover from floods

According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Van Ninh commune, by the morning of November 21, the rain had stopped in the commune and floodwaters had receded. The People's Committee of the commune has directed forces to deploy support for people to overcome the aftermath of the flood.

Accordingly, the military and police forces, with the support of human resources and equipment from the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 3, organized working groups to support people in flooded areas to clean up and repair their houses; pump out water in flooded areas. The electricity sector organized to repair and supply electricity to people in safe areas.

According to local statistics, the flood has submerged more than 1,380 hectares of rice, many houses were flooded; local forces coordinated with the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 3, Khanh Hoa Fisheries Surveillance to evacuate 106 households with 298 people in the flooded and isolated areas to safe shelters; provided adequate food and necessities to ensure the daily life of people in the shelters.

Faced with complicated weather developments, in the coming time, the People's Committee of Van Ninh commune has directed agencies, units, and villages to prepare forces, means, equipment, and necessities to proactively respond to possible situations; regularly propagate and inform people about weather developments and measures to respond to natural disasters.
