Pong Drang commune gives relief gifts to people of Hoa Son commune

Implementing Notice No. 68-TB/TU of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on assigning tasks to monitor, take charge of the area, direct response, relief and recovery work for floods, on November 23, the Pong Drang Commune Working Group led by Comrade Nguyen Hai Dong, Provincial Party Committee member, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Pong Drang Commune, was present in Hoa Son Commune to support and encourage people to overcome the consequences of the exceptionally heavy floods.

According to Notice No. 68-TB/TU of the Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, comrade Nguyen Hai Dong was assigned to monitor and be in charge of Hoa Son commune. The visit took place in the context that the whole province is urgently deploying response and relief work in localities severely affected.

In Hoa Son commune, comrade Nguyen Hai Dong inspected the situation at some locations heavily affected by floods, especially traffic routes and areas at risk of landslides.

On this occasion, the Pong Drang Commune Working Group presented many essential relief items to the Hoa Son Commune government to distribute to households, including 467 boxes of instant noodles and pho; 127 boxes of milk; 500 kg of rice; 577 cartons of water; 111 boxes of various cakes; 220 blankets and mats; 317 bottles of essential oils, probiotics, medicines; and new warm clothes, flashlights, candles, etc. The timely support contributed to helping the people of Hoa Son Commune soon stabilize their lives after the flood.

Faced with the complicated developments of floods and rains, Dak Lak province has declared a natural disaster emergency in 40 communes and wards, including Hoa Son commune - one of the most disadvantaged communes in the province.

As of November 23, Hoa Son commune suffered heavy damage with 2 houses and 6 outbuildings damaged, and many crop areas flooded.

The section of the road passing through the commune has been eroded, causing traffic congestion. In particular, the areas are currently cut off and isolated with nearly 257 households, of which Ktluot village is completely isolated.

It is known that, responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province, the Standing Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Pong Drang commune mobilized cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, armed forces, religious organizations, agencies, businesses and individuals to join hands to share and support the people of Dak Lak to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Up to now, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Pong Drang commune has received more than 90 million VND in cash and over 40 tons of goods including instant noodles, water, candy, clothes, blankets, etc.
