On November 23, Major General Bui Thien Thau - Deputy Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force directed the Mi-171 and Mi-8 rescue helicopter crews of Regiment 917 (Division 370) to continue transporting relief goods to flood victims in Dak Lak province ( formerly Phu Yen ).

Two helicopters flew in two directions to the flood-isolated communes of Tuy An Dong, Hoa Xuan and Xuan Dong.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , helicopters flew to survey and find areas still isolated by floods to drop relief goods to the people.

There are helicopter landing points, delivering relief goods directly to the people. Some times the helicopters fly over, it is still raining.

Mobile flight crews delivered supplies to many isolated areas, including: Tien Chieu village, My Canh village, Hoa Thinh commune, Hoa Xuan commune, Phuoc Nong village, Tay Hoa 2 commune, Phong Lien 1 and Phong Lien 2 communes of Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen).

During the day, the unit made 7 helicopter flights, transporting a total of 20 tons of goods including food, necessities and emergency equipment.

Mi-171 rescue helicopter number 8431 was piloted by Colonel Nguyen Truong Toan - Political Commissar of the Regiment, Colonel Ngo Hong Son - Deputy Chief of Military Training Regiment and Colonel Nguyen Chien Thang.

Mi-8 flight crew number 02 was led by Lieutenant Colonel Truong Thanh Binh - regimental commander and main pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Loc - deputy political commissar and main pilot and Lieutenant Colonel Dong Van Vu as navigator.

On the same morning, helicopters of Division 372 (Air Defense - Air Force) flew two flights, carrying 4 tons of essential goods including food, necessities such as dry food, cakes, milk, drinking water, life jackets... to help flood victims in Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces.
