More subsidence and cracks appear on Prenn Pass

On the morning of November 24, SGGP Newspaper recorded at Prenn Pass (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong Province) that many more areas with cracks, fissures, and subsidence appeared on the pass road surface. Currently, units are urgently deploying remedial measures.

At the section Km224+600 to Km224+700 of Prenn Pass road, about 100m of landslide occurred on the embankment to block the negative slope (since November 17). The authorities have driven steel sheet piles to delineate the landslide area and peeled off the asphalt surface.

Not far away, many other locations with cracked road surfaces ranging from several meters to dozens of meters are being treated to prevent water from seeping in.

Many sections of the positive slope have slight landslides, with the risk of landslides present at Prenn Pass.

It is expected that Prenn Pass will be open to traffic again in the next few days. Units are urgently constructing temporary signs to guide road users.

Prenn Pass (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat) has a particularly important position. This is the main gateway to the Da Lat area. Prenn Pass was upgraded in February 2023 and completed in January 2024, opening the entire route to traffic.
