Mr. Le Ngoc Tien said that during the recent floods, a number of national highways and important traffic routes of Lam Dong province were damaged and eroded. In particular, Prenn Pass and Mimosa Pass were severely eroded and have been impassable since November 18-19.

The Director of Lam Dong Department of Construction said that Prenn Pass has 6 locations where the road surface has sunk and cracked with a total length of about 300m, and the crack width is 1-10cm.
There is about 40m of landslide on the embankment blocking the negative slope, landslide of half of the 7.5m wide roadbed. The damage at this location shows signs of continuing to develop and there is a risk of landslide causing road breakage.

The Department of Construction has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue an emergency situation; at the same time, coordinate with relevant units to deploy Larsen pile driving and reinforce negative slope. It is expected that the route will be temporarily opened from November 25.
The leaders of the Department of Construction informed that Project Management Board 1 and the construction unit have determined the cause of the remaining damaged locations to have a plan to repair and thoroughly overcome them.

Faced with the situation of many damaged roads, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Construction to urgently repair them.
For routes that are still accessible, the authorities need to reinforce and repair them in a short time, ensuring people's travel and serving socio -economic development. For severely damaged routes, they need to be closed for thorough repairs to avoid similar situations in the following years.
