Lam Dong province is urgently allocating funds to mitigate the consequences of the floods.

On the morning of November 23, immediately after the online meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Muoi, held a meeting with departments and agencies to quickly implement the Prime Minister's directives.

Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Muoi, emphasized that the government's support funds for Lam Dong province currently amount to 500 billion VND. Local authorities are urged to promptly assess the damage caused by floods and heavy rains, prioritizing immediate assistance for housing damage as directed by the Prime Minister.

“Local authorities must urgently review and report fully and accurately on the damage to people's homes. The Department of Construction, based on the actual situation, will study the model and criteria for regulations and guidance to localities to provide timely support,” Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi directed.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Department of Construction promptly guide the affected communes and wards in completing their dossiers. Based on this, the Department of Finance should urgently allocate the support funds in a transparent and accountable manner, ensuring that the funds reach the right people and addresses.

Comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, gave directives at the meeting.

As for damage to transportation infrastructure, as soon as funding is allocated, localities will immediately focus on starting repairs.

The Department of Construction has assigned professional staff to guide localities in reviewing, appraising, and assessing the current situation, and completing all related documents and procedures.

As soon as possible, relevant departments, agencies, and localities should coordinate to quickly address the damage caused by the floods.

Comrade Ton Thien San, Director of the Department of Finance, delivered a speech at the meeting.

The Provincial People's Committee Office promptly informed localities of directives from higher authorities to focus on overcoming and addressing damage after the floods. In areas with severe damage, forces will be concentrated to closely monitor the situation and provide timely support and recovery efforts.

"We must be proactive, act first, and finish ahead of schedule in all matters directed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh . To achieve this, all departments, agencies, and localities must participate with determination and decisiveness," the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee instructed.

Representatives from the Department of Education and Training gave their opinions at the meeting.

At the meeting, Director of the Finance Department Ton Thien San emphasized that today, the unit will strive to allocate the categories and localities needing support in a coordinated manner.

The Department of Finance will focus on assigning specialized departments to quickly complete procedures for allocating funds. For communes and wards, a thorough and accurate assessment of the damage will be conducted so that the Department of Finance can allocate support funds promptly.

To date, the government has provided Lam Dong province with 500 billion VND in emergency aid and over 1,000 tons of rice to help mitigate the consequences of the natural disaster.
