The highly successful esports team has officially signed Grandmaster Le Quang Liem to compete in the upcoming Esports World Cup.

Le Quang Liem has officially joined Team Flash.

On the evening of June 1st, Team Flash officially announced the "blockbuster" signing of Le Quang Liem. Thus, instead of GAM Esports, the famous chess player has joined one of the most successful esports teams in Vietnam. Team Flash is best known for its Arena of Valor (Liên Quân Mobile) team. However, their League of Legends, PUBG, and PUBG Mobile teams have also won numerous championships.

“Team Flash is one of the leading eSports organizations in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, with a professional operating environment and great ambitions in the international arena. Meanwhile, I have maintained the number one position in Vietnam and Southeast Asia for nearly 20 years. Therefore, the collaboration between me and Team Flash is a landmark and very meaningful step, where both sides can combine their strengths, support each other, and create more new value for each other,” Grandmaster Le Quang Liem shared about the partnership.

Representing Team Flash, Grandmaster Le Quang Liem will officially enter the esports arena in the near future. His immediate goal is the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC). On May 18th, Grandmaster Le Quang Liem achieved this major goal by competing in the DreamHack Atlanta 2026 tournament in the USA. This tournament is part of the "Road to EWC" system, the official qualifying round for the chess event at the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC). The renowned chess player also celebrated this achievement on social media.

In the Esports World Cup format, players don't compete individually. Instead, they represent an esports organization within the EWC system. Each discipline in this months-long event contributes points to the overall team rankings. A chess champion also helps organizations climb the overall leaderboard, giving them a chance to win the biggest title and cash prize.

Last year, "Chess King" Magnus Carlsen came to the tournament wearing the Team Liquid jersey. After winning, he received $250,000 in prize money and helped the American organization earn 1,000 Club Points. The next two winners were Alireza Firouzja and Hikaru Nakamura, who played for Team Falcons from host country Saudi Arabia.
