In recent days, women's associations at all levels in Khanh Hoa province have implemented many practical activities to promptly support people affected by floods. Thereby, contributing to helping people overcome difficult times.

Give love through every gift

On November 24, the Provincial Women's Union (VWU) in coordination with the Khanh Hoa - Saigon Business Club presented 400 gifts to people affected by floods in 4 communes and wards: Ninh Hoa, Tan Dinh, Dien Khanh, Tay Khanh Vinh. At each destination, the delegation kindly visited the lives and shared with families who suffered losses in the recent floods. Although the water has receded, the lives of many households are very difficult because household items were swept away or damaged, and fields and gardens have not been able to restore production. Therefore, in addition to necessities, the delegation also gave each family 500,000 VND to buy necessary items. Ms. Hang Thi Xin (Phong Ap village, Tan Dinh commune) said that her family has 5 people, when the floodwaters came, the whole family had to be brought out by the rescue team to escape. The house was 2m deep in water, furniture and clothes in the house were swept away by the water. “This gift includes cash, which I will use to buy some essential items for my family. The amount is not large, but for us at this time it is truly precious, helping my family have more conditions to stabilize their lives,” Ms. Xin shared.

In recent days, the Women's Union at all levels has actively mobilized and supported clothes so that people have supplies. In particular, the Women's Union of Cam An commune mobilized and donated hundreds of sets of clothes to people in the villages: Van Thuy 1, Tan Lap, Hien Luong, Tan An. The Women's Union of Suoi Dau commune donated 450 new pants and T-shirts, along with many old clothes to people in Suoi Lau 1 village. The Women's Unions of the wards: Nam Nha Trang, Ba Ngoi, Dong Ninh Hoa... also actively mobilized old clothes to promptly support people.

To share the difficulties with people in flooded areas, the Women's Union of Ninh Hoa Ward cooked 1,000 meals to give to residential groups such as Diem Tinh, Vinh Phuoc, and Phu Binh. The Women's Union of Tan Dinh Commune coordinated with forces to cook rice and sticky rice to give to people; support single-parent and disadvantaged families to clean their houses after the water receded; and treat water wells to prevent epidemics. Women of Do Vinh Ward cooked 400 meals, 200 loaves of bread, and gave 1,000 packages of noodles to flooded households...

From early morning to late evening, women's union members in communes and wards are still working hard to organize cooking, prepare hot meals, pack necessities, classify relief goods and deliver them to households in difficulty and frontline rescue forces. The women also visit and give gifts to people in communes and wards that have suffered heavy damage; participate in cleaning up the environment...

Mobilizing support resources

Some localities have actively mobilized resources to support people in communes and wards that suffered heavy damage. In particular, the Women's Union of Nha Trang ward mobilized and received cash and gifts with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND to give to people in communes and wards: Nha Trang, Tay Nha Trang, Dien Lac, Dien Khanh... The Women's Union of Dong Ninh Hoa ward mobilized gifts with a value of about 1 billion VND to give to people in localities: Ninh Hoa, Hoa Thang, Tay Ninh Hoa, Hoa Tri, Tan Dinh, Bac Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh. The Women's Union of Ninh Chu ward and 2 Women's Associations of Residential Groups: Khanh Giang, Ninh Chu 1 donated 1,700 meals and gifts to people in communes and wards: Phan Rang, Ninh Hai, Ninh Phuoc...

Women not only contributed labor and money, but also spread love and warmth, accompanying people to overcome difficulties. In the coming time, unions at all levels will continue to coordinate with units, businesses and donors to implement more support programs, especially activities to help women and children stabilize their lives and soon restore their livelihoods.
