Set up a field kitchen

Right after the water began to recede, messages from members continuously appeared in the zalo group of the Executive Committee of the Khanh Hoa Real Estate Brokerage Association announcing locations in need of food and water support. Immediately, Mr. Duong Manh Cuong mobilized members of the association to go to the restaurant at 48 Nguyen Thien Thuat (Nha Trang ward) to cook and package food to take to locations in urgent need. This restaurant has a chef and a cooking area that can serve about 500 people per day. Upon receiving the notice, many members of the association urgently mobilized rice, vegetables, eggs... to start cooking. After that, the members packed boxes and mobilized vehicles to transport the meals to the people of Tay Nha Trang ward.

However, on the morning of November 21, members reported that the demand for food for people exceeded the kitchen's supply capacity. Ms. Vo Thi Phuong Uyen - Deputy General Secretary of Khanh Hoa Real Estate Brokerage Association contacted a philanthropist to lend her restaurant at 68 Tran Nhat Duat (Nha Trang ward). Tons of rice, eggs, meat, vegetables... were immediately transferred to the "field kitchen".

On the morning of November 23, the kitchen at 68 Tran Nhat Duat planned to cook 2,000 portions of rice, but the total demand in the communes and wards of Tay Nha Trang, Dien Dien... was too much, so the group mobilized more donors to try not to let people go hungry. "There is 500kg of support from donors, whoever has a vehicle can come and transport it urgently", "The kitchen needs air cargo, I support 2,000 chicken eggs", "There is a donor who supports 10 million VND to buy food, now transfer to which account number", "The residential area in Tay Nha Trang ward needs 300 meals for lunch today, the kitchen needs to make it in time, please notify us immediately"... Messages kept pouring into the zalo group of the Executive Committee of the Khanh Hoa Real Estate Brokerage Association on the morning of November 23.

“When I received money from donors, I planned to order meals from restaurants in the city. But the restaurants quoted too high prices, which was wasteful and could only be distributed to a small number of people. So I initiated the establishment of a separate kitchen and mobilized everyone to cook. Unexpectedly, everyone in the association enthusiastically supported. When I initiated the project, I thought I could only cook a few hundred meals, but so far I have cooked more than 1,000 meals and distributed them to the areas of West Nha Trang and Dien Khanh…”, said Ms. Vo Thi Phuong Uyen.
