At the conference, comrade Ho Van Minh, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, approved a summary report on the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity for the 2020-2025 term.
Accordingly, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity has achieved many outstanding, comprehensive and substantive results. The awareness and responsibility of Party committees at all levels, leaders, cadres and Party members have been significantly improved. Mechanisms and policies continue to be improved, contributing to overcoming formalities, loopholes and overlaps in management, and strengthening discipline and order. The work of inspection, supervision, investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments has been carried out regularly, strictly, resolutely and in accordance with the law, with "no forbidden zones and no exceptions". Many complicated cases and cases of public concern have been thoroughly handled.
In his speech, Comrade Bui Van Nghiem, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee and the government of Vinh Long province in maintaining the purity of the political system and strengthening the people's trust. The summary report showed that the province's anti-corruption work has made a positive impression, "becoming an irreversible movement and trend", contributing to curbing and preventing corruption, maintaining political stability and promoting socio-economic development.
In the coming time, comrade Bui Van Nghiem requested the province to continue promoting education and propaganda; perfecting the institution to "make corruption impossible"; strengthening inspection, supervision and thoroughly handling outstanding cases; perfecting the organizational apparatus, especially the two-level government; focusing on building a team of competent and clean anti-corruption officials; strengthening control of corruption in the non-state sector.
“The province promotes education, propaganda, and building a culture of thrift, anti-corruption, anti-waste, and anti-negativity among cadres, party members, and the people. Strictly implement regulations on publicity, transparency, and accountability in the activities of agencies, organizations, and units. Effectively control the assets and income of people with positions and powers. Reform administration and build a team of cadres with adequate qualities, capacity, and prestige,” Comrade Bui Van Nghiem noted.
Receiving the direction of the Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee, Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee Tran Van Lau said that the 2025-2030 term sets very high requirements for the province in the context of merging the administrative boundaries of the three provinces of Vinh Long - Ben Tre - Tra Vinh. The reorganization of administrative units opens up opportunities to streamline the apparatus, increase the efficiency of regional linkages, but also poses great challenges in management, operation and requires tightening discipline, order and control of power.
Thoroughly grasping the Central Committee's direction, especially the General Secretary's advice: "Continuously, without rest, no forbidden zones, no exceptions; doing things substantially, persistently and throughout the terms", the Provincial Party Standing Committee requested the entire political system to focus on 9 key tasks. In particular, it emphasized the need to promote propaganda and education on the culture of integrity; innovate the dissemination of laws; control assets, income and prevent corruption early and from afar.
The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed the determination to build a clean and strong Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; build an honest and serving government to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable development in the new period.
On this occasion, the Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of preventing corruption, waste and negativity in the period of 2021-2025 in Vinh Long province.
