To meet the needs of the people as well as contribute to urban beautification, Tran Bien ward has planned to "renew" the parks in the area.

Not enough to meet the demand

Tran Bien Ward currently has a population of nearly 200,000 people, the largest among 95 communes and wards in Dong Nai province. Therefore, the demand of people in the ward for community living space, especially the park system, is also very large.

Currently, in Tran Bien ward, a number of parks have been invested and built such as: Bien Hung, Nguyen Van Tri, Quyet Thang, Ky Niem, Lam Son, along with flower gardens located in a number of areas in the ward. However, apart from Bien Hung park which has a relatively large scale, the remaining parks and flower gardens in Tran Bien ward are mostly small in scale. Besides, access to some parks in the ward also has many limitations, for example Ky Niem park.

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh (residing in Tran Bien ward) said: The Memorial Park is located at the intersection of Nguyen Ai Quoc and 30-4 streets. These are streets with a large volume of traffic, so it is very inconvenient for people to enter the park.

Another limitation of the parks and flower gardens in Tran Bien ward at present is that the arrangement of space and landscape is not really reasonable to meet the needs of entertainment, recreation, and sports of the people. Currently, most of the internal roads in the parks are small and narrow, not suitable for the needs of people to walk and sightsee. The green tree system in the parks and flower gardens is not arranged appropriately.

According to Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha, Tran Bien is the central ward of Dong Nai province. However, the spaces for community activities are still lacking and weak. The landscape space in the parks has not been arranged appropriately, so it has not met the criteria to serve the needs of the people. At the same time, it has not created a highlight for the urban space and landscape.

Planning to improve the park system

Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Bien Ward Nguyen Duy Tan said: The parks and flower gardens in the ward have not really met the needs of the people, so the ward has planned to renovate and embellish. For Lam Son Park, the ward has completed phase 1 of renovation and embellishment.

Lam Son Park and the memorial inside were built many years ago. Because the park is located within the Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park and is surrounded, public access is limited and its community service function has not been fully exploited.

Since September 2025, after being approved by the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Bien Ward has coordinated with relevant units to renovate the park in an open direction, harmoniously connecting with the landscape along the Dong Nai River. After being upgraded, the park is both a historical destination for the young generation and meets the needs of entertainment and sports, becoming a green space highlight of Tran Bien Ward. In phase 1, Lam Son Park had its fences removed, the landscape renovated, new trees planted, sidewalks paved, lighting systems installed, etc.

Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested Tran Bien ward and relevant agencies to review, renovate and beautify Nguyen Van Tri park as soon as possible to meet the enjoyment needs of the people as well as create urban space and landscape.

Currently, Tran Bien ward is also renovating and beautifying Ky Niem park. Accordingly, the sidewalk system and internal roads in this park are being invested and renewed. At the same time, the lighting system and seats in the park will be rearranged to better serve the needs of the people.

Regarding Bien Hung Park, the People's Committee of Tran Bien Ward has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct relevant agencies to add the park expansion and renovation project to the list of medium-term public investment projects for the 2026-2030 period.

Previously, in July 2025, the Provincial People's Committee approved the Project to Adjust the Overall Detailed Urban Planning at a scale of 1/500 of Bien Hung Park. According to this decision, Bien Hung Park will be expanded to nearly 9 hectares (Bien Hung Park currently has a scale of about 4 hectares). Bien Hung Park will have its architectural space reorganized to promote the value of the green park landscape and water surface, creating a highlight of the area, becoming a cultural, civilized and modern destination, with a complete and synchronous technical infrastructure system.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Tan, the total estimated cost of relocating households and offices as well as investing in the construction, renovation and beautification of Bien Hung Park is more than 1 trillion VND. Due to the large cost of implementation, the locality has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee add the project to the medium-term public investment portfolio for the period 2026-2030.
