“The Opposite Family” directed by Meritorious Artist Vu Truong Khoa, revolves around Mr. Phi - a district-level department head who had to retire early in the middle of the process of merging and streamlining the administrative apparatus. From the position of economic and spiritual pillar, Mr. Phi fell into a spiral of losing income, losing his role and losing direction.

Mr. Phi’s concealment of the truth from his family to avoid causing anxiety caused the already simmering problems to flare up violently. His father and younger brother in the countryside continuously asked for financial support. His wife, Ms. Anh,’s investment was at risk of collapse. The relationship between him and his son, Duc, became increasingly tense due to differences in thinking. At the same time, the appearance of Nhi, considered his “illegitimate child,” made the already unstable family even more unstable…
Mr. Phi's family story does not stop at the usual conflicts in life, but touches on many layers of current issues: Pressure from reforming the apparatus, career changes, the gap in life concepts between generations, financial responsibility placed on the shoulders of middle-aged workers...

Each incident is like a test for members to reflect on themselves, learn to listen and get closer to each other. When the "pillar" is no longer as strong as before, the family is forced to find a way to reconnect so as not to fall apart.
The film is a harmonious combination of veteran actors and young actors who are gaining attention. Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai continues to make his mark in the role of Mr. Phi - a loving but domineering father who always believes that he understands his family well. Meritorious Artist Kieu Anh brings the image of Mrs. Anh, graceful, carefree but full of thoughts. They create a very interesting U50 "tuong cheo" style loving couple, promising to bring lots of laughter to the audience.

Young actors Thua Tuan Anh and Quynh Trang left an impression on the audience through the roles of Hoang Dinh Quy (young) in "Khong thoi gian" and Ngan (young) in "Cach em 1 milimet". This time, Tuan Anh takes on the role of Duc with an instinctive lifestyle, arguing with his father; Quynh Trang plays Duong, who is thoughtful and emotional.
The film also features actors such as People's Artist Quoc Tri, Thai Vu, Thuy Duong, Viet Bac, baby An Nhien... contributing to creating a realistic atmosphere for the story.

“Family in Opposite Places” chooses a simple narrative style, placing the characters in everyday situations but rich in depth. The film takes viewers through the very real collisions of modern family life, where love is sometimes not enough, sacrifice is sometimes misplaced and trust is always the most important challenge. The journey of Mr. Phi and each member brings many meanings, that any distance can be narrowed if the family members are willing to face it and move forward together.

Sharing about the direction of the film's development at the press conference to launch the film on the afternoon of November 24, in Hanoi , director Vu Truong Khoa said that this is a very current story and contains many thoughts. Therefore, the crew chose to tell it from a light and humorous perspective so that the audience can easily accept it. "In life, everyone has times when they encounter difficulties, but how they face difficulties will determine the quality of each person's life," the director shared.
Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai revealed that this is a very engaging script. Through the hands of director Vu Truong Khoa, each scene is interesting and close. The audience will see themselves in it with the difficulties, the loves and the emotional moments all very real.
