Determining that storm No. 13 had very strong intensity and great destructive power, the entire political system from the central to grassroots levels in general and the Provincial Military Command in particular actively and proactively took action, resolutely implementing response work according to assigned functions, tasks and authority to minimize damage caused by storms and floods.

In particular, the Provincial Military Command has directed forces to closely monitor the developments of storm No. 13; strictly maintain the 24/24-hour rescue and disaster prevention regime at all levels according to regulations. Directed the Border Guard Command to call on ships to enter shelter areas to avoid the storm safely; proactively work with localities to evacuate people in vulnerable and dangerous areas to safety.
In particular, during the storm, the rescue force of the Provincial Military Command promptly responded and safely evacuated more than 300 people trapped in collapsed houses, damaged roofs or in dangerous areas.
Particularly for the recent flood, the Provincial Military Command mobilized more than 1,500 officers and soldiers, 37 vehicles to coordinate with units of the Ministry and Military Region 5 to help people affected by floods and key flooded areas; evacuated 12,700 households/47,373 people to safety.

In addition, after the storm and flood, the Provincial Military Command mobilized more than 8,660 officers and soldiers to coordinate with localities to help people and businesses overcome the consequences; especially supporting families whose houses had their roofs blown off or collapsed; cleaning schools, hospitals, cultural houses, clearing roads and canals; cutting trees, and harvesting crops.
At the same time, the Provincial Military Command also received and distributed more than 5,000 gifts from organizations and individuals; 2,600 clothes, blankets, and mosquito nets from Military Region 5 to people in flooded areas.
Agencies and units in the provincial armed forces also directly supported thousands of gifts to people affected by storms and floods.

Concluding the conference, Colonel Nguyen The Vinh, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, affirmed that the provincial armed forces have made thorough preparations and done a good job of advising the provincial leaders in directing and operating effectively, early and from afar; coordinated smoothly with relevant units and localities to respond to minimize damage caused by natural disasters; actively helped people overcome the consequences and quickly stabilize their lives.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, the Commander of the Provincial Military Command requested agencies and units in the Provincial Military Command to proactively mobilize forces, means, and facilities to serve the task of preventing and responding to natural disasters according to the motto "3 before, 4 on-site".
At the same time, strengthen information and communication activities, provide guidance on prevention and response skills for all types of natural disasters in many forms; continue to closely coordinate with units of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and Military Region 5 stationed in the area to prepare forces and means to effectively perform the task of preventing and responding to natural disasters.
In addition, the advisory agency proactively builds and updates the latest information on flooded, landslide, and vulnerable areas to have timely response plans.

In the immediate future, agencies and units in the provincial armed forces will continue to coordinate with forces of the Ministry and Military Region 5 to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and quickly stabilize people's lives.
On this occasion, authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the leaders of the Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 8 individuals; the Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 67 individuals with outstanding achievements in disaster prevention, search and rescue, and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 13.
