Understanding leads to harmony.

Marriage is not a fairy tale where everything is perfect. It's the journey of two imperfect people striving to build a meaningful life together. In this process, differences in personality, life perspectives, and even minor conflicts are inevitable. Therefore, when marriage faces challenges, couples should have honest conversations, prioritize family happiness over ego, and work together to mend relationships and build a strong foundation of love.

When conflicts and misunderstandings arise

Ms. Nguyet and Mr. Nam, from Phu Loc commune, have been married for 8 years and have two children, a boy and a girl. They run a rice shop and a beverage shop. Their business is doing well, and their family is financially comfortable.

Recently, Nam's close friend mentioned that "the owner needs money and is selling a piece of land urgently at a cheap price," and suggested Nam buy it to make a profit. Nguyet, worried about Nam's lack of experience in real estate, advised him to slow down and wait for legal verification. However, Nam feared someone else would snatch it up, so he decided to buy it immediately. When it came time to complete the paperwork, many problems arose. Nguyet felt that Nam's unilateral decision showed a lack of respect for her. She was angry and refused to speak to or eat with her husband for several days.

Although not wealthy, the family of Ms. Cúc and Mr. Tâm in Đại Thành ward enjoys a peaceful and happy life. Ms. Cúc is a civil servant, and her husband is a sales employee. Over the past few years, they have bought land and saved money, planning to build a house by the end of this year. However, before their dream could be realized, Mr. Tâm unexpectedly informed them that his sister needed capital for her business and urgently needed to borrow some money. Mr. Tâm quickly gave his sister more than half of their savings without consulting his wife. Angry at her husband, Ms. Cúc took her child and went to her parents' house for a week, refusing to answer calls or messages despite her husband's pleas.

The relationship between Ms. Giang and Mr. Khai in Hung Phu ward had always been good. In their family, Mr. Khai was an exemplary husband and father, wholeheartedly loving his wife and children. However, recently, Ms. Giang's close friend unexpectedly encountered Mr. Khai with a young, beautiful woman buying an apartment. Coincidentally, Ms. Giang's friend was also looking to buy a house, so they "ran into" each other.

When she heard the news, Giang was furious. However, she didn't dare confront her husband directly, instead silently enduring the situation, lost in thought, and harboring suspicions about everything. For several days, she avoided him, refusing to speak to him or eat with him. When Khai inquired, she only replied that she had a lot of work and was feeling exhausted.

Listen, understand

Initially, when his wife ignored him, even though he knew he was wrong, Nam's male pride prevented him from doing anything. But then the family atmosphere became suffocating, the kitchen cold and silent, and the children were psychologically affected by their parents' conflict. Nam felt deeply remorseful and decided to speak up first, admitting his fault. He and his wife contacted acquaintances knowledgeable in law to help resolve the matter. The land, which seemed cheap at first, turned out to incur many additional costs, rendering the investment ineffective. After the incident, Nam learned a valuable lesson and, most importantly, realized the importance of a united and supportive relationship between husband and wife.

Meanwhile, Tâm went to his wife's parents' house to apologize and beg them to bring his wife and children back. Everyone in the family advised Cúc to forgive everything because Tâm was acting out of brotherly affection. For now, her family lent them money to build their house as planned. Her sister-in-law also proactively called to arrange a repayment date. After discussing and finding a solution, Cúc and her husband reconciled and prepared to start building their dream home.

Seeing his wife's cold demeanor, Mr. Khai pressed her for an explanation, and only then did Ms. Giang reveal that someone had seen him with a young, beautiful woman buying an apartment. Upon hearing this, he realized his wife had misunderstood. The woman Mr. Khai had taken to see the house was actually My Ngoc, his cousin. Because Mr. Khai had been in business for many years and had a wide network of contacts, he had secured a favorable price from a business partner and introduced his cousin to buy the house as an investment. In return, Mr. Khai received a commission. His cousin later invited the couple to dinner and gave them gifts as a thank you for helping them buy the house at a good price.

"The misunderstanding with my husband made me feel guilty and taught me a valuable lesson. If there are any disagreements or misunderstandings between husband and wife, they should discuss them frankly and openly. A 'cold war' easily pushes those involved further apart and risks the breakdown of the marriage," Ms. Giang confided.

According to psychologists, marital affection needs to be nurtured and strengthened every day. Furthermore, when couples disagree, have conflicts, or misunderstandings, they need to talk openly to find suitable solutions. Because if a "cold war" continues, it will only further damage the relationship and negatively impact family happiness.
