People in Hang Hot village, Nam Ban commune, Lam Ha gradually change their awareness and convert crop structure to increase income.

Nam Ban Lam Ha commune currently has 36 villages; of which there are 4 villages of ethnic minorities from the Central Highlands with 3,189 people, accounting for 9.75% of the commune's population. Comrade Phan Tien Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Ban Lam Ha commune said: Regarding socio -economic conditions, people mainly live on agricultural production; with a low starting point, people's lives are still difficult.

From practical policies close to the local situation, in recent years, the commune has effectively implemented national target programs such as: new rural construction; sustainable poverty reduction; socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

For example, the locality has focused resources on investing in the construction of 9.5 km of concrete roads with a total cost of 11.2 billion VND, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development. Schools have been invested in building according to infrastructure standards, contributing to gradually improving the quality of education and people's knowledge. Investment in building and upgrading water supply works for people's daily life has cost over 3 billion VND; upgrading Hang Hot and Buon Chuoi reservoirs, ensuring water sources for people's production.

At the same time, implementing programs and projects to support production such as: fertilizers, lawn mowers, sprayers... supporting livestock barns, breeding animals; job conversion with billions of dong. Repairing and upgrading community activity houses in villages to meet the needs of meetings, cultural and artistic activities; mobilizing resources to build 25 houses, basically no more temporary houses, dilapidated houses. The rate of poor households has decreased, by 2025 there will be 26 poor households, accounting for 5.28%.

In addition, people have proactively changed the structure of crops and livestock, converting ineffective crop areas to growing mulberry and raising silkworms. Currently, there are 131 households growing mulberry and raising silkworms in 4 ethnic minority villages with an area of 31.5 hectares of mulberry. At the same time, households have actively grafted and improved new coffee varieties, applied scientific and technical measures to production, and increased economic efficiency on the cultivated area. In addition, livestock farming has been enhanced to develop beef cattle and black pigs. Up to now, in these 4 villages, there have been 385 cows/55 households.

Besides the achievements, there are also difficulties such as: some people have not yet proactively improved themselves, still waiting and relying on others. The level of education is not high, the application of new science and technology in production and animal husbandry is still limited. Some households have many children, leading to a lack of land for production. The capital to support production development under national target programs for households and groups of households is still low...

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Ban Lam Ha commune affirmed: In the coming time, Nam Ban Lam Ha commune will continue to strengthen the propaganda of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, especially the socio-economic development policies for ethnic minority areas to the people. At the same time, gradually change the awareness and approach to social life, change customs and practices, absorb advanced science and technology to apply in production and livestock breeding, improve economic efficiency, and reduce poverty sustainably.

At the same time, focus on vocational training, developing craft villages and traditional occupations associated with image building, brand building, and promoting key products on e-commerce sites.
