The Hanoi City Labor Federation currently guides and directs the activities of 20 university and college unions with a total of 5,346 officials, teachers, and workers, of which 3,019 are female, accounting for 56.47%; there are 5,153 union members, of which 2,986 are female, accounting for 57.94%.
In the 2024-2025 school year, under the direction of the City Labor Federation, the direct leadership of Party committees in schools, the close coordination of the government and professionals, the activities of the Trade Unions of universities and colleges have many innovations, proactively grasping the situation, choosing appropriate content, and being flexible in organizing activities.
The school trade unions have joined with the government to do a good job in planning the staff; paying attention to the selection, training and development of staff; valuing female and young staff; encouraging staff, teachers and workers to actively study to improve their academic qualifications, professional expertise, political theory, foreign languages and information technology to meet the requirements of assigned tasks.
The People's Inspectorate of many schools has promoted its role in supervising cadres, teachers and students in implementing teaching regulations, observing classes; implementing lecturers' teaching plans and schedules; managing students in class, during self-study hours, and living in school dormitories; implementing democratic regulations, examinations, admissions, implementing title conferring regimes, salary and bonus policies and other benefits of union members, cadres, teachers and workers.
The emulation movements attracted a large number of union members, cadres, teachers and workers to participate. Through the movement "Good at school work, good at home work" and other campaigns, the school unions, together with the professional bodies, have paid attention to training and fostering the staff in general and training female cadres and lecturers in schools, encouraging female cadres and lecturers to actively participate in scientific research topics, constantly study to improve their professional qualifications, political theory, academic titles and degrees to meet the requirements of assigned work.
In the 2025-2026 school year, the Trade Unions of universities and colleges strive for over 70% of cadres, teachers, and workers to achieve emulation titles at all levels and over 80% of female cadres, teachers, and workers to achieve the title "Good at school work - Good at housework". 100% of school Trade Unions coordinate with professional organizations to organize Conferences of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers and Conferences of workers; 100% of trade unions of non-public schools represent in negotiating and signing Collective Labor Agreements. 100% of school Trade Unions conduct training and introduce outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit. Strive to introduce 80 new party members to the Party to train and consider admitting.
Regarding the organization of the Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the Trade Unions of schools will organize in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union, Plan No. 117/KH-LĐLĐ dated September 23, 2025 of the Hanoi City Labor Federation, ensuring the purpose, requirements, content and time schedule. After the Congress, develop the Regulations on the operation of the Executive Committee, the regulations on the operation of the Inspection Committee, the program of activities for the entire term and assign tasks to the Executive Committee to effectively implement the Resolution of the Congress.
