Soldiers wholeheartedly serve their compatriots in flood-affected areas.

The rain was still heavy, and the mud still covered the paths, but the appearance of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army became a "lifeline" for the people in the flooded area.

Returning to the people, these heroes are not only there to rescue and assist, but also to "revive" hope after days of devastation caused by the devastating floods.

The recent historic flood submerged Duc Binh commune in water for three days and nights. In some low-lying areas, the water rose to tens of meters, and even in the least affected areas, it was still over 3 meters deep. When the water receded, all that remained was a thick layer of mud and devastation.

Many families are facing a situation of "five lacks": no shelter, no property, no rice, no electricity, and no clean water...

The moment they saw the officers and soldiers of Regiment 66 (Division 10, Corps 3) entering the village, many villagers couldn't hold back their tears. Ms. Huynh Thi Hoa choked back tears and said, "Everything is gone, gentlemen, the water rose so quickly we didn't have time to save anything..."

Following the motto "wherever the floodwaters recede, we will address the damage," during their time in the villages, the soldiers of Regiment 66 braved the cold rain to help the people and schools in the area clean up village roads and alleys, clear drainage ditches, and dredge mud.

In particular, the bond between the military and the people is further strengthened in the most tragic circumstances. Not only did the soldiers focus on supporting dozens of single-parent families and the elderly, but they also quietly joined hands in arranging the funeral for a family whose loved one tragically died in the floods, and promptly transported a critically ill resident to the hospital amidst the immense difficulties of disrupted transportation.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Chi Cong, Deputy Chief of Staff of the 10th Division, shared: “The people are suffering too many losses. The order right now is to act with the utmost urgency and responsibility to help them stabilize their lives as soon as possible.”

While the frontline forces were straining to "fight" amidst the floodwaters and mud, another front was raging just as intensely and urgently in the rear. Without needing any instructions, everyone considered rescuing their fellow citizens a command from the heart.

At the Provincial Military Command headquarters, the lights shone brightly throughout the night. Officers and members of the Women's Association set aside their personal affairs, carefully sorting and packing essential supplies. Each piece of clothing, each packet of instant noodles, was meticulously arranged, carrying within it the warmth of the home front, hoping to dispel the biting cold of the flood-stricken region.

An atmosphere of urgency spread throughout the western communes and wards of the province. Even in the remote commune of Ea Súp, the commune's Military Command, together with the local people, lit fires and jointly wrapped 1,000 green sticky rice cakes, creating a beautiful symbol of the solidarity between the military and the people.

Similarly, at Infantry Company 2 (Regional Defense Command 3 – Ea Súp), the unit managed to gather even the smallest items: 14 large boxes of instant noodles, 500 kg of vegetables and fruits, blister packs of Panadol and Berberine medicine, and solicited 100 boxes of bottled water from its sister unit. Lieutenant Tô Hữu Sỹ, the company's political officer, said: "With all our hearts, we encouraged everyone to help in whatever way they could, as long as it reached the people in need during this difficult time."

According to statistics from the Military District Staff, on November 22 alone, the Army mobilized all its resources to help ensure the livelihoods of the people: 15 tons of dried food were urgently released from warehouses; 20,000 welfare gift bags; 50 tons of rice, 10,000 boxes of instant noodles, along with thousands of liters of fish sauce and cooking oil, were delivered to the flooded areas.

All goods and supplies were delivered directly to the people at the most critical time. The close coordination between units, the joint efforts of philanthropists, and the sense of responsibility of the soldiers created a combined strength, ensuring that no one was left behind in this time of hardship.
