On the afternoon of November 19, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Secretariat's Decision on personnel work.
At the conference, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, presented the Secretariat's Decision to transfer and appoint comrade Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee (term 2025-2030); introduced to the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council to elect him as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the term 2021-2026. This is an action to implement the policy that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee must not be a local person.
Comrade Tran Phong is a capable official, especially with experience in State management and the ability to gather high solidarity.
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van believes that Mr. Tran Phong, together with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, will successfully complete all tasks, meeting the expectations of the Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony to accept the assignment, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Tran Phong pledged to make efforts with the local Party Committee and government to fulfill the newly assigned tasks and devote himself to the development of the province.
With a receptive spirit, he said he will uphold the spirit of responsibility, constantly study, practice, research, and strive to complete the common work well for the development of the province and the happy life of the people.
At the same time, actively implement the Resolution of the 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress (term 2025-2030), focusing on 6 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs set out in the Congress Resolution towards the goal of building Khanh Hoa into a centrally-run city by 2030.
In his new position, comrade Tran Phong hopes to continue receiving support and assistance from the Central Ministries, branches, Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province to realize the aspiration of bringing Khanh Hoa to the highest growth pole of the country...
Comrade Tran Phong, born in 1974, hometown: Quang Phuong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province (old), now Quang Tri province; political theory level: Senior; professional level: University of General Business Administration; degree: Master of Economics. He has held the following positions: Vice Chairman of Bo Trach district People's Committee (old Quang Binh province); Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee (old); Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Binh province (old); Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province (old); Secretary of Dong Hoi City Party Committee, Quang Binh province (old); Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province (old).
On July 1, 2025, when merging Quang Binh province (old) and Quang Tri province (old), the Prime Minister appointed comrade Tran Phong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province (old) to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province (new) for the 2021-2026 term.
Also on the afternoon of November 19, the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council held a thematic session, electing comrade Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term./.
