Promoting regional connectivity
In early November 2025, the Hanoi Department of Tourism organized two delegations to promote and survey tourism in localities that are in peak tourist season. That is the flood season in the Southwest region and the blooming flower season in the Northwest region.
Specifically, from November 4 to 7, Hanoi organized a program to promote, advertise and cooperate in tourism development in Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces; organized a survey program with destinations such as: Con Ho, Khmer Cultural - Tourism Village, Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House, Sa Dec Flower Village, Tram Chim National Park...
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said that this promotion activity of Hanoi tourism and the southwestern provinces is a continuation of the spirit of cooperation that has been maintained for nearly 10 years between the two regions, while affirming the determination to actively contribute to the common goal of the national tourism industry, which is to welcome 25 million international visitors to Vietnam and 150 million domestic visitors this year.
After the promotion and survey trip, Vice President of Hanoi Tourism Association Nguyen Tien Dat assessed that Hanoi is the gateway to welcome international visitors, so expanding tourism linkage activities between Hanoi and localities, including the Southwest region, is very important to enhance the experience for tourists. "Southwest tourism has many highlights that the North does not have, such as experiencing rivers and gardens. This connection will create an attractive experience route from the capital to the West", Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat commented.
Continuing the regional linkage activities, from November 11 to 14, the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a survey team to build a unique Hanoi - Lai Chau tour, attracting international tourists. The survey team consisted of most of Hanoi's reputable inbound travel agencies (welcoming international visitors), to learn about destinations such as: O Quy Ho Heaven Gate Tourist Area, Rong May Glass Bridge, Pu Sam Cap Cave - Northwest's first cave and community tourism villages such as: Si Thau Chai, Lao Chai 1, Sin Suoi Ho...
Director of Five Star Travel Co., Ltd. Luong Duy Doanh said that the survey program helps travel agencies specializing in welcoming international visitors in the capital to directly experience and evaluate the quality and attractiveness of the destination. Thereby, businesses have more basis to cooperate with service businesses, tourist areas and spots in Lai Chau, forming new tours, bringing international visitors to explore this land rich in identity.
Strengthening Vietnam tourism
In 2025, Hanoi Tourism, as a transit center for tourists, has taken the lead in promoting and linking regional activities to strengthen Vietnam tourism. Last September, the Hanoi Department of Tourism organized tourism promotion in the Central Highlands provinces to strengthen cooperation in sustainable tourism development.
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu shared: Hanoi alone will not be enough to enrich the experience for tourists. Therefore, the Capital wishes to promote the value of its thousand-year heritage, while expanding cooperation with potential localities such as Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai... to resonate strength, exploit the maximum of unique strengths to create a colorful tourism picture.
The promotion, cooperation and advertising of tourism are also carried out by the community of tourism and travel agencies in Hanoi with many proactive connection activities. Accordingly, this November, travel agencies will participate in tourism surveys in Son La and Thai Nguyen with the aim of building more new products and expanding experiences for tourists.
Tourism promotion, advertising and survey activities are being carried out continuously on various scales, creating momentum for localities and tourism businesses to build new, attractive products to attract more tourists. Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu assessed that two-way tourism promotion activities between Hanoi and other provinces and cities have been significantly improved after the promotion, advertising and product survey programs. International visitors have more experiences when coming to Vietnam and the trend is increasing.
To promote and link tourism between Hanoi and other localities more effectively, Mr. Tran Trung Hieu said that in the coming time, Hanoi will carry out regional linkage work according to different themes. In particular, Hanoi will coordinate with localities to promote agricultural tourism associated with sustainable green development; cultural - heritage tourism, focusing on exploiting historical values, festivals, and craft villages to form specialized cultural tours, extending the length of stay; linking nature - experiences, connecting the strengths of eco-tourism and resorts of Hanoi with localities with the same strengths...
