The event marks an important step forward in enhancing aviation, tourism and trade connectivity between Vietnam and the Nordic region, while affirming Vietnam Airlines' pioneering role in expanding its international flight network.
The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, along with leaders representing Vietnam Airlines, leaders of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, General Director of Saigontourist , and representatives of the government and tourism promotion agencies of Denmark.
Within the framework of the program, Vietnam Airlines officially announced the launch of a direct flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen from December 15, 2025. This is the first direct flight connecting Vietnam and Denmark, and is also a new air bridge between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe, helping to shorten travel time to about 12 hours. The route will be operated with a frequency of 3 flights per week using wide-body aircraft Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, bringing the most comfortable flight experience to passengers.
Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen are scheduled to depart at 10:45 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the return flight from Copenhagen to Ho Chi Minh City departs at 10:50 a.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The opening of the route is considered a strategic move by Vietnam Airlines in its plan to expand its European flight network, while also creating leverage for Vietnam's tourism growth in the Northern European market.

In addition to announcing new routes, Vietnam Airlines and leading Danish partners signed four important cooperation agreements to strengthen ties in the tourism and aviation sectors. Accordingly, the strategic cooperation agreement between Vietnam Airlines and Greater Copenhagen Connected on tourism promotion and developing the Nordic market creates a premise to expand activities to promote Vietnamese destinations.
At the same time, Vietnam Airlines and Copenhagen Airport signed a memorandum of understanding on infrastructure exploitation, service quality improvement and joint promotional programs. Vietnam Airlines and Albatros Travel also agreed to cooperate in developing two-way tourism products, aiming to increase the number of Danish tourists to Vietnam, while expanding the flow of Vietnamese tourists to Northern Europe.
In addition to bilateral cooperation, Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist and Nordic Travel established a three-way cooperation agreement to expand the package tour system and improve customer experience. This series of agreements creates an important foundation to promote the synchronous and sustainable development of the aviation - tourism value chain between Vietnam and Nordic.
As the capital of Denmark and the leading economic and tourism center of Northern Europe, Copenhagen plays a gateway role connecting to the entire Scandinavian region, including Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. With the presence of Vietnam Airlines in Copenhagen, Vietnam hopes to enhance its competitiveness on the international tourism map, while increasing the exchange of visitors and investment between the two regions.
The Vietnam - Europe Tourism Promotion Program in Copenhagen not only marks a new milestone in bilateral cooperation, but also affirms the pioneering role of Vietnam Airlines and the Vietnamese tourism industry in efforts to bring the country's image closer to international friends, towards the goal of sustainable development, deep integration and growth in the 2025-2030 period.
