This year’s tournament saw a record number of 14,000 athletes, including more than 3,000 international athletes from over 60 countries. All athletes completed their races with flying colors.
The Ha Long route – one of the Top 50 most beautiful running routes in the world – along with favorable weather conditions and professional organization has created a complete experience for runners. Notably, the 2025 season witnessed a large number of Vietnamese athletes setting personal records, reflecting fair competition and increasingly improved professional quality, especially between domestic athletes and the international Elite group.
In terms of results: in the 42.195km distance, the first prize for women went to athlete Caroline Jepkemei Kimosop (02:43:26); the first prize for men went to athlete Kennedy Kiprop Chelimo (02:13:57). In the 21km distance, athlete Doan Thi Oanh won the first prize for women (01:19:53); athlete Edwin Yebei Kiptoo led the men's category (01:11:23).
In the 10km distance, athlete Le Thi Thanh Quynh won first place in the female category (0:40:48); athlete Nguyen Van Khang won first place in the male category (0:34:13). In the 5km distance, first place in the female category went to athlete Truong Manh Trang (0:19:24); first place in the male category went to athlete Vu Minh Thang (0:16:27). The title of “First Vietnamese to finish the 42.195km distance” went to athlete Nam Huynh Anh Khoi (2:23:32) and athlete Pham Thi Hong Le (2:48:06).
The year 2025 has a special significance as it marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment and development of the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon – the first and only race in Vietnam to be awarded the World Athletics Label Road Race. This recognition from World Athletics is a convincing testament to the quality of organization, professional standards and international stature of the race.
At the same time, it affirms the increasingly clear position of Vietnam Marathon on the world marathon map. In the context of Quang Ninh province promoting sustainable tourism development, the World Label title continues to consolidate the combined value of sports , heritage, culture and tourism - the core strengths of the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh , affirmed that the province always considers culture, sports and tourism as an important driving force in the strategy of developing people and a civilized, dynamic and integrated living environment; at the same time, he committed to creating the best conditions for the Ha Long International Marathon 2025 to take place safely, civilized and rich in experience, through which each athlete will become an "ambassador" to promote the image of Ha Long - Quang Ninh.
Representative of the World Athletics Federation, Mr. Rachid Ben Meziane, assessed that the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon has all the elements of an international-class sporting event, from majestic landscapes, hospitality, a track designed for speed to the participation of top Elite athletes.
With outstanding marks in scale, operational quality, professional achievements and international influence, the 2025 Ha Long Heritage International Marathon continues to affirm its position as a leading sports and tourism event in Vietnam. The support of major sponsors, the recognition of the World Athletics Federation, and the persistent competitive spirit of tens of thousands of athletes have contributed to creating an inspiring season, spreading the image of Ha Long - Quang Ninh as dynamic, attractive and integrated.
