Temple of Literature pioneers in digitizing heritage with the application "Vietnam's wonderful history"

VHO - On the afternoon of November 23, on the occasion of Vietnam Heritage Day, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam launched the digital heritage experience "Vietnam's Wonderful History". This is an application of augmented reality (AR) technology combined with artificial intelligence (AI), marking a breakthrough in preserving and promoting heritage using modern technology at this special national relic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam Le Xuan Kieu said that with the desire to bring a completely new experience to domestic and international tourists when visiting the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the Center has collaborated with BSM company to apply AR technology, "reviving" history.

The project is a testament to the orientation of "Preserving heritage with technology - Connecting the past with the future" on the occasion of this year's Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day.

The combination of traditional values and digital technology applications not only creates a new breeze for heritage tourism activities, but also especially attracts the young generation, contributing to diversifying digital experiences, promoting relics and developing the capital's cultural industry.

At the event, Mr. Truong Quoc Toan, Assistant Director of the Hanoi - Île-de-France Urban Development Cooperation Project, commented: The Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam always maintains a pioneering role in creative applications, cultural industry applications and digitalization.

For a heritage with special value like the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam, promoting the heritage value in real space always has certain limitations. But those limitations have been overcome and removed when digital space is introduced.

The application of augmented reality (AR) technology combined with artificial intelligence (AI) has created a connection, a sympathy "across centuries, across generations".

With "The Wonderful History of Vietnam", visitors to the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam can completely meet their ancestors in a vivid way; can even stand next to them, can communicate at a certain level.

Through these interactions, visitors will understand the journey of a Confucian scholar in ancient times: from studying in the village teacher's class, to taking exams, and then returning home in honor to pay respect to his ancestors.

“I hope that with the product “Vietnam Wonderful History”, tourists will understand more about the Vietnamese people’s tradition of studiousness and the spirit of lifelong learning, which is the greatest value that every Vietnamese person always carries with them throughout their life journey.

At the same time, digital experience space will also help visitors want to come back more often" - Mr. Truong Quoc Toan emphasized.

Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam comes closer to the public of the Central region through an exhibition in Da Nang

VHO - The exhibition "Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam: Cultural space from thousand-year-old knowledge" will open at Da Nang Museum on August 28, introducing nearly 100 images, artifacts and precious documents, contributing to bringing the cultural heritage of Thang Long closer to the public in the Central region.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, visitors to the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam experienced the free application "Vietnam's Wonderful History" at three AR points arranged in the front yard of the Teacher's House.

These are: Village school classroom - Simulating the traditional educational space with the teaching methods of the ancients; Candidates taking exams - Vividly depicting the solemn yet emotional examination space of candidates on the path to the imperial examination; Returning home in glory to pay respect to their ancestors - Reenacting the solemn procession of newly graduated doctors returning home to pay respect to their ancestors.

Each experience point is fully equipped with modern equipment with iPads and dedicated display screens. Visitors can experience directly at the relic or download the application to their personal mobile devices completely free of charge.
