Vietnamese athletics affirms its position

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Asian Athletics Council. The meeting was chaired by Asian Athletics President Dalan Jaman B Hamad.

In his welcome speech at the Conference, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet assessed that the fact that Asian Athletics trusted and chose Vietnam, Hanoi , to be the venue to hold this important annual meeting is a great honor for Vietnam.

"This is not only a recognition of the persistent efforts of Vietnamese sports in the journey of international integration, but also an opportunity for Vietnam to contribute more deeply to the development of the Asian athletics movement - a movement that is increasingly innovative, professional and full of aspirations to reach the world level," said Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet.

Informing senior officials of the Asian Athletics Council, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet said that in recent years, the Party and State of Vietnam have always identified sports as an important part of the strategy for developing Vietnamese people.

Sports are not only soft power, but also national image, a bridge of peace and friendship between nations. In that overall strategy, athletics - the fundamental and core sport of the Olympics - has always received special attention.

The Prime Minister's approval of the Project "Developing Vietnam's Athletics to 2030, with a vision to 2045" clearly demonstrates Vietnam's determination to make athletics an important driving force to improve the physical strength, stature, quality of life and image of Vietnamese people in the new era.

Athletics always carries within itself a special value: it is the combination of will and determination, the spirit of constantly overcoming difficulties, the honesty, nobility and purity of top sports. Athletics is also the common voice of spiritual strength, a means of connecting the community, a cultural bridge connecting countries in the diverse but traditionally united Asia region.

"We believe that developing athletics is not only about developing a sport, but also about developing human resources, inspiring the young generation, and contributing to building a dynamic, healthy, and civilized society.

Therefore, Vietnam is always ready to expand cooperation with countries around the world, ready to accompany Asian Athletics in training programs, professional development projects, as well as in building a fair, transparent, doping-free competition environment - in line with the core values of world sports," Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet emphasized.

He also said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Sports Administration pledged to continue supporting the Vietnam Athletics Federation in improving the quality of training young athletes; investing in modern facilities; enhancing the capacity of coaches and professional staff; strengthening international cooperation; improving the organization of domestic and international tournaments; and promoting innovation in sports management.

At the same time, we believe that this Asian Athletics Conference will be an opportunity for delegates to exchange frankly, share practical experiences, discuss and propose important strategic directions to develop Asian athletics strongly and sustainably and affirm its position in the international arena.

Appreciating the achievements of Vietnamese Athletics in recent times, the Asian Athletics President sent his wishes that Vietnamese Athletics will continue to achieve more positive results.

Giving some development orientations of Asian Athletics in the coming time, Mr. Dalan Jaman B Hamad also hopes that Vietnam in particular and Southeast Asian countries in general will join the flow of Asian Athletics to develop more and more strongly. He also wishes Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries success at the 33rd SEA Games, which will be held in Thailand next December.

The conference will end in the afternoon of the same day.
