Vietnamese athletics is given wings to reach out to the continent

The Asian Athletics Council supports proposals to promote the development of Vietnamese athletics, including the goal of winning an ASIAD gold medal and meeting Olympic standards.

The 105th Asian Athletics Council Conference took place in Hanoi on November 24. The Vietnam Athletics Federation hosted the conference, coordinating with the Asian Athletics Council to organize the conference.

19 members of the Asian Athletics Council present in Hanoi worked on many important contents, to discuss the plan for developing Asian athletics in the coming period.

The host representative, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation, member of the Asian Athletics Council - presented proposals to promote the development of Vietnamese athletics.

Key proposals include developing grassroots athletics and developing high-performance athletics.

With the content of Developing Athletics for the Masses, Vietnam requested the Asian Athletics Council to support the implementation of the children's athletics program in schools on a national scale and standardize the mass competition system in Vietnam.

With the content of Developing High Performance Athletics, Vietnam proposed that the Asian Athletics Council introduce high-quality training locations and introduce world- leading experts so that the Vietnamese athletics team can participate in long-term training, aiming to win gold medals at the ASIAD, the Asian Championship and reach Olympic standards.

Vietnam's proposals received high consensus from the Chairman and council members, demonstrating Asian Athletics' strong belief in Vietnam's capacity and determination in developing athletics.

President of the Asian Athletics Council - Mr. Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad assessed Vietnam as an active member, with many contributions, possessing great potential to reach the continental and world level.

He also appreciated the attention of Vietnamese sports leaders to the development of athletics, especially after his visit to the National High-Level Sports Training Center (Nhon), where he witnessed the serious spirit and strong aspiration of the national athletics team.

The 105th Asian Athletics Council Meeting in Hanoi was a great success, marking an important milestone in the region's athletics development strategy and affirming Vietnam's position in the Asian sports system.
