On the evening of November 24, Mr. Huynh Viet Trung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Son commune - said that the locality had sent an urgent report on the risk of landslides at the hill of village 4, Yang Reh.
According to Mr. Trung, the heavy rain that has lasted for the past few days has caused the hill located next to Highway 27 to continuously develop large cracks, and the soil has been torn into many pieces.
On the same afternoon, the hill showed signs of severe landslides, affecting the safety of people on the negative slope next to Highway 27.
The landslide has encroached about 1 meter further than the original landslide level, with many long cracks, posing a potential risk of major landslides in the near future.
At the foot of the hill there are many households living, this area is located next to the national highway, so the threat level increases.

Faced with the dangerous situation, the Commune People's Committee inspected the scene, notified and assisted people to temporarily evacuate from the high-risk area. The militia and commune police were deployed to stand guard, restricting people's movement.
However, the rain continues, the risk of landslides continues to increase while the commune does not have the capacity to handle the landslides on its own.
The People's Committee of Hoa Son commune proposed that the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments urgently send geological and technical experts to survey and evaluate the slide surface, determine the cause and propose urgent and long-term reinforcement solutions.
The commune also requested support with materials, equipment and funding to carry out temporary rescue measures, ensuring safety for people and vehicles traveling on National Highway 27.
