At the PVF Center - Ministry of Public Security (Hung Yen), against the weakest opponent in the group, the Vietnam U17 team fielded a strong lineup with the goal of scoring many goals to improve their goal difference.
Not wanting to disappoint head coach Cristiano Roland, the Vietnam U17 players turned the match against the Northern Mariana Islands into a shooting practice session.
In the first half, Vietnam U17 scored 6 goals with strikes from Tran Manh Quan (1', 16'), Nguyen Van Duong (21', 23'), Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc (33'), and Nguyen Minh Thuy (35'). Manh Quan opened the scoring for the home team just 31 seconds after the opening whistle.
In the second half, Vietnam U17 scored 8 more goals to complete a resounding victory, with goals from Tran Hoang Viet (47'), Nguyen Manh Cuong (53'), Trieu Dinh Vy (60'), Dao Quy Vuong (73'), Tran Ngoc Son (74', 79', 90+3'), and Le Trong Dai Nhan (81').
In particular, the goals scored by Dinh Vy and Dai Nhan were very beautiful.
The 3 points earned against the Northern Mariana Islands, along with a goal difference of +20 after two matches, helped Vietnam U17 move to the top of Group C, ahead of Malaysia U17.
In the other match of the same round, the Malaysian U17 team only won 1-0 against the Hong Kong U17 team.
The third match of this group will take place on November 26th. There, Vietnam U17 will face Hong Kong U17, who are currently in third place.
Group C matches of the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers will take place from November 22nd to 30th at the PVF Center - Ministry of Public Security ( Hung Yen ).
The Vietnam U17 team aims to top their group to secure the single qualifying spot for the finals.
