More than 600 athletes participated in the 1st Sports Festival

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of Quang Minh Commune People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the first Quang Minh Commune Sports Festival is not only a mass sports activity, but also a festival to demonstrate the strength of great solidarity, the will to train and the aspiration to rise of Quang Minh people in the renovation period. The festival is a testament to the efforts to build Quang Minh people "healthy - dynamic - creative - integrated".

In recent times, with the attention of the city after implementing the 2-level local government model, the physical training and sports movement in Quang Minh commune has developed rapidly. The People's Committee of the commune has issued a plan to develop physical training and sports for the period 2025-2030, focusing on investing in grassroots cultural and sports institutions, increasing the rate of people regularly exercising and playing sports to more than 45% and the rate of sports families to 35%. 100% of village cultural houses are equipped with practice grounds and outdoor sports equipment; more than 20 physical training and sports clubs are maintained and operated effectively.

This sports festival gathered more than 600 athletes from villages, schools and clubs in the commune, competing in 9 events: Athletics, badminton, table tennis, football, shuttlecock, volleyball, tug of war, chess and martial arts. By the opening time, the commune had successfully organized 4 events, creating a vibrant and healthy competitive atmosphere in the community.

The commune's sports competition and training movement has soon affirmed its potential when many young athletes achieved encouraging results in cluster, industry and city tournaments. This is the foundation for Quang Minh commune to continue to discover and nurture talents, aiming to have athletes participate in the 11th Capital Sports Festival - 2025.

The first Quang Minh Commune Sports Festival is also an opportunity for units to exchange, learn, strengthen solidarity in the community, contribute to building a new cultural life, and arouse awareness of physical training to serve study, work, and protect the Fatherland.
