Accordingly, the New Year's Eve fireworks display for 2026 will be held at four locations from 00:00 to 00:15 on January 1, 2026, including high-altitude locations: the area at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel (An Khanh ward), the new city center in Binh Duong ward; Tam Thang Square (Vung Tau ward) and a low-altitude location at Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi ward). The fireworks display will be funded through social contributions.

Ho Chi Minh City also implemented artistic light decorations to welcome the New Year on central streets and many special cultural and artistic programs such as: the New Year's Eve countdown program to welcome 2026 (countdown) taking place on the evening of December 31st in the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area; the "Awakening the Dawn Waves" program (including a running race and a mass yoga performance) at Tam Thang Square, Vung Tau ward; the "Cultural and Culinary Festival" program in Vung Tau ward; the outdoor art program to welcome the New Year 2026 at Binh Duong ward park; and New Year's art programs in Dau Tieng commune, Xuan Son commune, Binh Khanh commune, Go Vap ward, Phu Thanh ward, etc.

In addition, vibrant cultural and artistic performances to welcome the new year 2026 will also take place at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural Center, universities, colleges, dormitories, export processing zones, industrial parks, etc. Exciting sporting events to welcome the new year include: the 12th Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Cross-Country Race, the Dinh Mountain Run, etc.

At the same time, the headquarters of the People's Committee and People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, the City Theater, the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, the City Fine Arts Museum, and the City Post Office will open their artistic decorative lighting systems to serve the viewing needs of residents and tourists.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the series of activities to welcome the new year 2026 will take place from the end of December 2025 to the beginning of January 2026.
