Lao Chải Ethnic Boarding Junior High School is located in Lao Chải commune, a particularly disadvantaged area of the province. Currently, the school has 800 students, mostly from the Mong ethnic group; 644 are boarding students, and nearly 200 students have lunch at the school daily. Over the years, the school has received attention from various levels of government, agencies, and benefactors. However, the school's boarding kitchen, with an area of approximately 30 m², is dilapidated and lacks a large number of cooking equipment…

Based on the above situation, with the efforts of Red Cross branches at all levels, from central to local, the Ho Chi Minh City Commercial Cooperative Union ( Saigon Co.op ) provided 330 million VND to build a new, spacious, and modern school canteen with an area of 70 m². The facility is equipped with many modern devices for food processing and ensuring food safety, including: a two-compartment industrial rice cooker, a refrigerator for storing food samples, and other equipment meeting school canteen standards.
For Lao Chai Kindergarten in Lao Chai commune, where nearly 100% of the students are from ethnic minority groups and 123 out of 417 students are from impoverished families or have difficult circumstances, the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross Society mobilized social resources to donate many supplies and equipment to the students and the school. These included essential items such as water heaters, desks and chairs, blankets, speakers, student uniforms, sleeping mats, alphabet flashcards, and construction materials for building a road to the school, totaling 200 million VND.

This is a series of practical and meaningful activities within the "Nutrition for Poor and Disabled Children" program implemented by the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross Society. Through these activities, the aim is to improve the learning and living conditions of students, instill more confidence and motivation to attend school, and open up a better future for children in mountainous areas. It also spreads the spirit of compassion and community responsibility of the Red Cross Society in supporting local education .
