Da Lat is once again enchanting in the season of pink grass after the rain.

After days of heavy rain, Da Lat enters its cool, sunny season with pink grass fields covering the Lam Vien plateau. Currently, the pink grass is at its most beautiful and will gradually fade in about two weeks.

After weeks of continuous rain, Da Lat dons a new coat – the pink grass season of 2025. On the hillsides around Dan Kia - Suoi Vang Lake, the Golden Valley area, Masara Hill (Duc Trong area),… the young grass after the rain suddenly turns pink, spreading into a soft, smooth carpet under the green pine trees.

This is also when the Lam Vien plateau enters its most beautiful "cold sunshine" season of the year. In the early morning, moisture still lingers on the grass, and the entire pink grass hill seems covered in a layer of white mist - something many tourists affectionately call "snow grass".

As the sun rose, its rays slanted through the dewdrops, the white hues quickly turning into a soft pink, illuminating the entire hillside, making those standing there want to take a deep breath to hold onto that pristine feeling for longer.

The pink grass season usually arrives after the wild sunflower season, after the rose gardens are in full bloom, like a promise to close out the old year. Groups of young people get up at 4-5 am to "hunt" for pink grass, combining it with overnight camping, gazing at the starry sky, and waiting for the sunrise over the lake. Many families choose Da Lat for their end-of-year trip , letting their children run barefoot on the grass, listening to the rustling of the pine trees and feeling the characteristic crisp coolness of the mountain town.

To fully capture the beauty of the pink grass season, visitors should start from the Dan Kia - Suoi Vang lake area, where the grassy slopes along the lake and the gently sloping hills create a very open landscape, making it easy to choose a vantage point for panoramic shots of the Lam Vien plateau. A little further is the Golden Valley area - where the natural pink grass carpet blends with the calm surface of the lake.

One spot that has recently become popular among young people is the pink grass hill overlooking the surrounding communes such as Lat and Dung K'No, where the pink grass grows interspersed with pine forests, creating a more pristine feel than familiar tourist destinations.

The best time to admire and photograph the pink grass is from 5:30 AM to around 8:00 AM, when the mist is still light and the sun isn't too harsh. This is also when the Lam Vien plateau is at its quietest.
