The Vietnamese women's team will face Indonesia in the semi-finals of the SEA Games 33 at 4 PM tomorrow (December 14).
At the pre-match press conference, the head coach of the Indonesian women's national team, Akira Higashiyama, could not hide his pride in his team's journey in this year's tournament. He said that reaching this stage of the competition was already a memorable milestone.
Assessing the opponent, the Japanese strategist showed great respect for Coach Mai Duc Chung's team but was not at all apprehensive: "Regarding the semi-final match, I feel confident and relaxed. Vietnam is a very strong opponent; they have won the SEA Games many times and are a strong contender for the championship."

However, Akira affirmed that they had made thorough preparations in terms of tactics: "Our players have learned a lot after the loss to Thailand. We will have a strategy to stop Vietnam's strength. And certainly, Indonesia wants to win to make history."
Sharing the same confidence as her coach, Indonesian captain Gea Yumanda believes that physical fitness will be a key factor in this match. Having had more rest than the Vietnamese women's team is a significant advantage.
"Our team has prepared well and has the advantage of five days of rest. The whole team has fully recovered, is in excellent form, and will do their best to overcome Vietnam," Gea Yumanda emphasized.
The semi-final match between the Vietnamese and Indonesian women's teams promises to be more dramatic than usual, and the winning team will face either Thailand or the Philippines in the SEA Games 33 final.
