In Group A, the Vietnamese men's team has a great chance of securing one of the two semi-final spots because, apart from host nation Thailand, both Singapore and Laos are considered very weak teams.

Against Laos, who were returning to the regional arena after 16 years, coach Tran Dinh Tien gave all the players a chance to play.

In the first set, the Vietnamese men's team started confidently, quickly establishing a lead before winning 25-13.
In set 2, the Vietnamese men's team lacked focus at times, allowing their opponents to catch up in points. Despite this, Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team still won 25-20.
In set 3, the Vietnamese men's team featured many key players such as Ngoc Thuan, Van Hiep, Van Duy, and Duy Tuyen. The team easily gained a significant advantage and won 25-14.
Defeating Laos 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-14) in just 63 minutes, the Vietnamese men's team had a smooth start in Group A.
Tomorrow, December 14th, Coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team will play their second match in Group A against Singapore before their final game against Thailand on December 16th.
