VHO - Ahead of the SEA Games 33 semi-final match against Indonesia, coach Mai Duc Chung expressed respect for the opponent but was determined to lead his players to victory and advance to the final.

At a press conference on the afternoon of December 13th, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that the Vietnamese women's national team had thoroughly studied their opponent and were ready to aim for victory to secure a place in the SEA Games 33 final.

“We’re facing Indonesia in the semi-finals, and this promises to be a great match. Indonesia is a rapidly improving team; compared to the team we faced in the AFF Cup in Hai Phong , they’ve changed a lot. In particular, the naturalized players have brought a new energy to the team.”

"This is good progress, but we will be cautious. I respect our opponent and will focus all my efforts on this match," said coach Mai Duc Chung.

VHO - The Vietnamese women's team defeated Myanmar 2-0 in the decisive match for a place in the next round in Group B of the SEA Games 33. After the match, coach Mai Duc Chung praised the performance, especially the fighting spirit of his players.

Compared to the recent Southeast Asian Championship, the Indonesian women's team has undergone many changes in its squad. The team has added several high-quality naturalized players.

Regarding a more detailed assessment of the opponent, coach Mai Duc Chung said: “I know Indonesia has naturalized players. We have also studied the opponent and will have a strategy to deal with their tall and strong players.”

We will press high, utilize our best abilities, and play in top form. Even though our opponent has many naturalized players, I believe Vietnam will win.”

Also attending the press conference before the semi-final match was striker Pham Hai Yen. She shared: “My teammates and I are always ready, confident, and united when we step onto the field. We hope to continue receiving the support of the audience.”

Meanwhile, Indonesia's coach Akira Higashiyama said: "We are here to make history. This is the first time the Indonesian women's team has been in the top four at the SEA Games."

Speaking about the semi-final match, I feel confident and relaxed. Vietnam is a very strong opponent; they have won the SEA Games many times and are a strong contender for the championship. We will try our best to play well in tomorrow's match and win.”

This afternoon, December 13th, the Vietnamese women's national team will have a training session at San Suk Stadium (Chonburi, Thailand) to prepare their tactics for the semi-final match against Indonesia at 4:00 PM tomorrow, December 14th, at TSNU Chonburi Stadium (Chonburi, Thailand).
